Okay, I found this bed and breakfast online and was so impressed, I could hardly wait to arrive. My partner and I were coming to Indy from Missouri for a concert held at Butler. We were both anticipating a very charming and romantic weekend.
Judging by the description and photo gallery online, we decided to stay in the Rose room at the Looking Glass Inn which was advertised as a romantic honeymoon suite. When booking, they give you a choice to reserve either two twin beds or a king. I, of course chose the king not realizing what I was in for. Never in my wildest dreams would I expect to receive not a king, but TWO TWINS PUSHED TOGETHER with a flat sheet covering them! I couldn't believe it! I know that sometimes the box springs on a king are two twins, this is not what I am talking about. Seriously, my partner and I slept with a huge hump in the middle of the bed. You could fall through the crack in the middle of the night if you weren't careful!!!! And, don't even think about intimacy.........DANGEROUS!!!!!!!
This is just the start, unfortunately. Upon realizing the sleeping arrangements, of course I asked for different accommodations. None were possible according to the innkeeper, and we were to be to our concert within the hour so we had to run to dinner. Big loser here too. We foolishly ate at the villa inn that evening. The dining room was very cute and the staff was sweet but the food was less than tolerable. I think my filet came from sam's club, not that I am criticizing ol' sam, but I payed $28 for a $3 microscopic filet. It was very tough and tasteless. My partner ordered the $22 pasta....big mistake. She was given a small portion of pasta with the tiniest little shrimp you have ever seen and the sauce was unrecognizable. Our crappy little dinner for two ended up costing us $98. Unbelievable!!!!!!
We were both incredibly disappointed by this point but we didn't want to ruin our evening so we decided to keep our complaints to ourselves and deal with it in the morning.
By the time morning came, I was so pissed off that we left as quickly as possible. I gave myself a few hours to cool off on the drive home then called the inn to tell the owner about our experience. After I explained to her that we were very unhappy paying $145 to sleep on two twin beds pushed together with old, worn out, see through sheets and that her website was misleading selling this as a romantic honeymoon suite with a king bed, her response was "nothing is wrong, and I will not give you a refund." I tried to explain to her that I too am a business owner, in fact, I own a salon and day spa which is a very similar business and that when a customer is displeased with an experience, I so everything in my power to make it right. She could have cared less. Needless to say, I will NEVER stay here again!! I hope that you don't make the same mistake!
