“Friendly & Convenient, but don't bother with valet...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2014

Our room was lovely. Room service was prompt and friendly. The kids loved the pool. This was very convenient to downtown areas and very close to the Indianapolis zoo, which is where we were headed. The downside was the waiting upwards of 15 minutes to get our car back from valet when we were in a hurry to get to our appointment in the morning. The crazy thing is that we weren't waiting in line or anything, but our valet guy was gone for a L-O-N-G time... Four staff members were standing in the lobby area chatting together while our group of four waiting there with all of our luggage. I was about to ask one of them, who looked to be a manager, if he would look into the matter of where our long-gone valet was with our car. I was even suspecting an accident or something. Crazy. Turned out fine, but we were late to our appointment. We would stay there again, but would skip the pricey, slow valet parking. One minor detail that I wish more hotel rooms would address -- PLEASE PUT AN AVAILABLE PLUG NEAR ENOUGH TO THE BED TO BE ABLE TO CHARGE OVERNIGHT AND STILL HAVE IT WITHIN REACH. I hate having to move the nightstand, looking for an plug, only to find no available outlets. Pet peeve.

Room Tip: Ask to have the $30 or so up-charge to your room in order to have access to the concierge lounge. V...

Thank you for staying with us and taking the time to complete an online survey. I am sorry that our self parking option was not available for your stay and we were only able to offer valet parking and other parking options in the city.

I am happy that overall you enjoyed your experience and we hope to see you again at the Indianapolis Marriott Downtown the next time you visit Indy.

This hotel is downtown Indianapolis and connected to the Convention Center. This also gives you access to Circle Center Mall, which makes it nice in winter, NO OUTSIDE walking required to get around! The hotel is above standards in cleanliness! The staff was awesome and very helpful! They gave us an extended check out time w/out addtional cost which worked out so nicely. The rooms are clean, updated and the bathroom was huge! Rooms have iron, hairdryer, fridge & nice comfy bedding! There is a fitness center on site as well as indoor pool/hot tub, and laundry facility-all very nice/well equipped! The only complaint I have, which is strictly personal preference, you can not turn on AC in winter. The room did get hot & we wanted the AC on to cool room. The hotel turns off AC access in winter, per maintenance. WIFI is at a fee, however, they do offer free WIFI in public areas! There are 2 resturants on site & Starbucks coffee! We did eat at Champions, it was overpriced and not very good. The parking is at a fee, valet available. We would stay again, easy access to anything you would want to do downtown Indianapolis!

Room Tip: FYI- Mariott is AMAZING w/ GOVT/Veterans rates! ALWAYS call then direct and ask for this rate if it...

Just returned from a fri-mon stay for a national cheerleading competition at the Indianapolis convention center. The hotel is connected to the center via skywalk which is super convenient, especially in the winter. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The only drawback is the sink is inside the bathroom. It would have worked out better for us with a vanity outside the bathroom with 3 people trying to get ready. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. The restaurants are very good, and there is Starbucks on site, always a plus. I would definitely stay again.

We stayed here for 3 nights for my sisters wedding over Thanksgiving. The staff was wonderful and always had a smile on their face. A manager was walking by my room, as we were leaving, and over heard that I had lost my chapstick. By the time we reached the desk to check out, she had radio'd down and had a brand new chapstick waiting for me. It really is the little things that add up for exceptional customer service. Workout facility was nice and my kids enjoyed the pool.

This hotel always impresses me. It is very convenient to anything you want to do downtown. The restaurant in the hotel has really improved and the staff will go out of their way to help. I can't wait to stay here again.

We booked a New Year's package - room, breakfast buffet, and parking - for cheaper than most hotel rooms alone that are downtown. Wasn't sure what to expect from hotel. I was pleasantly surprised! Lobby was nicely decorated, super accommodating staff (the concierge gave my husband change for a $20 out of his own pocket), quick check-in.
Room was nice and modern - nothing spectacular. One complaint - the shower temperature was hard to regulate - was either cool or hot. Breakfast buffet was good since it was free. The chef working at breakfast was great! Super friendly and helpful. I do not think it would have been worth paying $16 per person though. Food was kind of blah and it was the standard breakfast foods you would expect. All in all, good stay and we will return to the Marriott!

When we decided to spent New Year's Eve at a local hotel with our children and another family of good friends, we had no idea how much fun the whole experience could be. The downtown Marriott was such a good choice for this type of gathering. From parking and check-in to morning coffee and our reluctant departure, the hotel staff was warm and accommodating at every turn. We had a great lunch at Champions (one of several restaurants attached to the hotel lobby) when we first arrived, and the kids had a great time swimming in the pool which also had a nice view of downtown. Even walking to dinner was fun and easy, despite the chilly temps. I'll definitely return to this Marriott any time I need a hotel in downtown Indianapolis.
