“stay away from the sofa beds !!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2012

We stayed for three nights at this hotel. The staff is very friendly, the rooms are clean, the breakfast is good.

I would rate this hotel 4 points instead of two if I hadn't slept in the sofa bed available in the room. We had to accomodate an extra guest, so we booked a room for three people with two double beds and a sofa bed.

I have no words to describe how uncomfortable was to sleep on this sofa bed !! I could feel *every* spring in the mattress core and there was no position I could stay that made me feel comfortable. I had to fold a blanket and place it under the sheet so that I could sleep.

Unless you are a fakir, don't choose this hotel if you plan to use the sofa as a third bed.

Apart from that, I have no complaints about this hotel.

Room Tip: Don't sleep on the sofa bed !!!

Breaking from the normal, this weekend my wife and I dropped the kids off at Grandma's for an 18 hour "break". We were able to cash-in some rewards points At the lt minute and found the Fairfield Inn Downtown Indy! I remember this propert from many years ago... Didn't stay until this past weekend, but I had it in my mind that this may be a disappointment to both my wife and I. That thought soon drifted as we pulled up to the valet stand. Te Fairfield Inn is attached to the new JW Marriott and was extremely nice! I have to admit that our room was a little small, but I soon realized that the rooms edging in "2" are across from the elevator shaft. Small yes, but very nicely renovated, extra clean rooms with a great view of The Indiana State Museum & White River State Park! Additionally, there is a TGI Friday's attached to the Fairfield, perfect for late night snacking & an adult beverage (again, we left the kids at Grandma's this time!).
The only negative that either my wife or I could find about the property really wasn't the hotel itself, but the parking was a little high at $27.00 a night, valet. I do realized we were downtown, but still, it seemed a little high.
There was an unmentionable noise coming from the room next door that woke me up at 3:00am, but I laughed about it and went back to bed. We believe there were several wedding parties there the night we stayed!
Typical Fairfield Inn breakfast options and very friendly staff! We will be back soon!,,

Room Tip: Great views from rooms ending in "2", but be prepared for the rooms to be a bit smaller as...

We stayed here again for GenCon (2012). Wouldn't want any other hotel. Staff is friendly. Rooms are clean. Decent breakfast options.Prices are set correctly (for GenCon). Short walk to convention center.

After trying to get a room at the SpringHill Suites that did not work out, we stopped next store at the Fairfield. The staff there went out of their way, Roland I think, to find a room to fit our family. They went beyond the normal service to make a room work for our family which was tired from a long day of travels. The room itself was clean which is our number one priority, the furnishings seemed fine. We would definitely stay again. Enjoyed the convenience of the TGI Fridays in the lobby.

We stayed several days at this hotel in August 2012 during a meeting at the Indianapolis Convention Center. The hotel is very conveniently located for the convention center, the White River State Park and Indianapolis Canal Walk, excellent museums, downtown restaurants, medical center, government center, and the downtown skyway connectors that lead to a mall and restaurants. Our room was clean and well maintained, and the staff were very professional and friendly. The parking was convenient and not too crowded. However, the room and parking were quite expensive, totalling over $160 per day, and pending extra charges were applied to our credit card, in case of incidental expenses, that made it unusable for other expenses until around the time we checked out. The expensiveness appeared to be maybe slightly less than other nearby hotels but too much for our budget.

We drove through Indy on our honeymoon trip. It was a nice hotel. Nice for walking to downtown restaurants but nothing amazing. It was clean. The rooms were decorated nicely. The breakfast was good. But along with the room price you have to pay to park in their garage. I guess it's part of the city life but I didn't love it.

Room Tip: The rooms without a city view look over a gravel roof top. Choose what side you want for the view.

I was recently in Indianapolis for a friend's wedding. We choose to stay at the Fairfield Inn to save a few dollars. It offered a typical continental breakfast. People at the front desk were nice and acommodating and always available. We liked the location and found, as this weekend was really hot, that it was connected to the skywalk system around the city. We also like that it was right by the river and there were lots of things to do without having to go far. The gym is small, but the equipment is up-to-date and it was clean. There is no pool, but we knew that when we reserved, however, with the heat we wish we had stayed some where with a pool. I wouldn't have a problem staying there again if I were to get a good deal!
