“Exceptional Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 days ago NEW

We stayed here for the Indy 500 and were extremely pleased. The rooms are lovely, the food is fabulous, the atmosphere is great, the location is perfect...but the staff is what makes this hotel exceptional. We will be back next year for sure!

Room Tip: The corner rooms are the largest and the higher floors have better views.

From the moment pulling up...the staff is at your service! The doorman was very friendly and so helpful. The gentleman at check-in was also extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was beautifully appointed, clean, and modern. The bed and pillows were very very comfortable.
Overall... our experience was absolutely wonderful! The hotel is about 6 months old and possibly the best service in Indy!

Room Tip: since it was an old hotel, rooms can be on the small side, they do have upgrade rooms that are large...

My husband and I stayed here with our two dogs for the Indy 500 weekend, and we simply can't wait until our next visit! Room was gorgeous with high-end finishes. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful to us & our mutts---even bringing dog beds and water bowls! The staff even allowed us to check out extra-late to accommodate some unexpected traffic getting back to the hotel. We absolutely loved our stay and hope to return again soon!

Very happy with this hotel! Staff was super friendly and attentive. My room was tiny but very well put together with a high end modern look. The bed was comfortable and my bathroom was flat awesome. I love the walk in shower and back lit mirror. The Fitness Center was a top notch. Easily one of the best outfitted hotel gyms I've been to, and everything was shinny and new! Regarding location, I don't think it could get better so much to see and do all within walking distance. I will be back for sure.

This is the renovated Canterbury so the basis for the hotel is retro small rooms. Our bellman told us nearly all the rooms were enlarged in the renovation. Bathrooms have been enlarged, have good fixtures, are bright, and are roomy. Our room was two bodies only while our guests had a larger room with a sofa that made conversation much easier than the usual bed as a chair. TV large and HD, wifi ok. There are no great views here as it is in the core of downtown

On checkout only one elevator worked in a two elevator structure, valet took over 30 minutes to get our car. We had purchased some of the stay through a charity event and it tool a week to get the charges to my card instead of the donor of the rooms. They really need a bit more space and staff to handle in and out. In comparison the Conrad offers much more service at the same price.

The common are on the first floor is ok. The upside is the location in the inner corner of the SW quadrant of downtown so you walk to all restaurants, bars, shopping, as well as Banker's Life and Lucas. It is a 5-10 min walk to the north end of Mass Ave

The new bar has a great beer and cocktail selection at Chicago prices, and has a nice feel to it. May old school cocktails and Zombie Dust was on tap during our stay ($10 fro 10 oz)

As with a lot of older layouts, the service, common areas, and bar/restaurant make the difference compared to a lower end hotel

Room Tip: Room size varies, ask for one with a couch

My husband surprised me by booking this property for an impromptu romantic getaway. The staff and retro feel of this hotel was awesome. Our room was spectacular and the location was perfect for pub crawling.
I would definitely recommend this hotel and I plan on returning soon!

Stayed for an overnight and we were warmly greeted at the valet dropoff. Hotel has been completely renovated. Everyone was very nice and we had a great experience. We met for drinks and dinner at the downstairs bar Spoke & Steel. The drinks were great and the food was amazing. The Halibut was amazing. Rooms were very nice and the beds were amazing as well. The downside is the noise. Hallways are very narrow so you can hear talking, etc. That really was the only con.
