“Great Family Stay!”

Embassy Suites Hotel Indianapolis North

Auburn, Illinois
Apr 21, 2008

My husband and 2-year old daughter stayed in this lovely hotel for the weekend 11-13 April 2008. We enjoyed very much the atrium space, fountains and decor. The room was perfect for us - two adjoining spaces - our daughter was able to sleep in the living area on the couch while we were able to watch movies in the bedroom area without disturbing her.

Two downfalls: they do offer a lovely hot buffet breakfast - complete with omelette station. My husband ordered an omelette and could not eat it due to the fake oil/grease they use to 'butter' the pan. Yuck!

Also - the second day - Sunday morning - the hot tub was out of service, with no explanation or attention from the staff.

Neither of these things would keep me from staying here again.

    • Liked — Helpful staff, lovely atrium
    • Disliked — Abundant grease in the omelette in the a.m.!

Hands down, this is my favorite Embassy Suites hotel, to date. The exterior architecture is unique and quite pleasing. Front staff personnel were friendly and helpful; check-in process was uneventful (as it should be!). Not sure how old the hotel is; however, it had the appearance of a newer property or at least one that is maintained very well. The condition of my room was excellent; I couldn't find a blemish. The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable; bathroom was clean; shower water pressure is strong. I like how you can open a french door to a small exterior balcony. It was very warm the day I stayed, and it was very nice to be able to open the door and enjoy the balmy breezes blow into the room. For a moment it didn't feel as if I were in Indianapolis. Granted, the view from my third floor suite was nothing special and brought things back to reality. Access to I-465 or 86th Street is very easy. I did not avail myself to the other amenities, including breakfast, on the property. I can not pass up a Cracker Barrel breakfast (located just around the corner!); otherwise, I would have had the good breakfast at the hotel. Overall, an excellent choice for accommodations on the north side of town.

“Awesome hotel”

Embassy Suites Hotel Indianapolis North

Apr 1, 2008

This hotel was our final stop on a whirlwind seven day trip to upstate New York and then back to Illinois. We chose this hotel so we could have one quiet night to just sit back and relax. This hotel turned out to be all we'd hoped for & more. Embassy Suites are beautfiul hotels anyhow, but this one in the north section of Indianapolis was fantastic. Our room was quiet, the front desk people were extremely courteous & helpful. We just had a perfect evening before heading back out for home.

“Enjoyed the Embassy Suites”

Embassy Suites Hotel Indianapolis North

Mar 31, 2008

We checked into the Embassy Suites for a "night away". We had great service at the front desk-we were able to check in hours early and get a late check-out the next day. The interior was very nice but they are currently undergoing renovations. Our room had been renovated with new art, furniture, bed, etc. Overall, the hotel was very clean however the halls and glass elevators were dirty and worn-awaiting renovation! As always at Embassy Suites, the breakfast is great-a large part of why we like to stay there. Cooked to order omlets, pancakes, bacon, sausage, yougurt, the whole deal. The evening manager's reception is nice too-free alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for two hours with no limits. They also provide light snacks. Overall we were very pleased and would not hesitate to stay there again, even with the renovations.

  • This TripAdvisor Member:
    • Liked — The rooms are all two room suites with fridges, microwaves, and minibars
    • Disliked — The wait in line for omlets at breakfast and not enough seating

“Great Facility For Families”

Embassy Suites Hotel Indianapolis North

Mar 28, 2008

We received a two night stay at the Embassy Suites North as a gift for our family. We chose to stay during the week after Easter. It appears that most renovations have been completed. In fact, there was no construction visible from the lobby or atrium.

Our room contained two double beds and a sleeper sofa with a full door in between. It seemed to be generously sized (bigger than what I remember the Embassy Suites in downtown Indy being) Our room was very clean at check in, but missing all the pillows from both beds. A quick call to the front desk remedied that. The sleeper sofa was adequate for our 10 year old son, but looked to be uncomfortable for an adult. He was awoken each morning by people in the atrium moving tables around.

Because we were on the second floor, we did not have an outdoor balcony. When we checked out our view, we noticed that window did not latch properly nor did it have a screen. We also noted that it was accessible from the side parking lot by a low roof. It did feel a little unsafe. Housekeeping Service was still not complete by 5:00 on day 2 of our stay, but again a call to the front desk fixed that.

The free cocktails offered in the evenings from 5:30-7:30 had adequate chips/pretzels and dip as well as a great selection of drinks. The free breakfast in the morning was outstanding with made-to-order omelets and french toast available along with the traditional breakfast items (cereal, bacon, eggs, pancakes, donuts, waffles).

The pool is very appealing to families. It is only 3.5 feet deep throughout. Deep enough to have a good time, but not so deep that you worry about the kids the whole time. The work out area was viewable from the pool. It looked to have 3 pieces of equipment in a very small glassed in room with a TV.

Because we were there during Spring Break, there were many families. At times the pool area was crowded and the hallways noisy. By our second night the business crowd had arrived and
things were much more relaxing.

I would definitely stay here again. I would recommend this hotel for families - the breakfast can't be beat. Business travelers who like peace and quite should look elsewhere.
