Lots of great Western Art and culture. I didn't expect the Hoosier state to ahve such a varied collection.

“American Indian and Western Art and Culture”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2012

One of Indianapolis' most interesting cultural and art museums is the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art. While some may feel it is out of place in heart of the Midwest, the Museum offers a thoroughly delightful experience that opens up the culture and art of the US Southwest as well as the culture and art of indigenous Americans. The Museum has over the years broadened its focus from visual arts to include cultural and historical aspects of American Indian life. The Museum has a cafe (reasonably priced and reasonably tasty) and gift/book store (well stocked). The Museum also hosts various festivals and events (the Indian Market is especially good). Located next to the Indiana State Museum.

Great place for the Western art enthusiast or for anyone who is curious about the West and Western art. Beautiful facility. Easy walk from downtown hotels.

“Educational”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2012

If you interested in learning all about your heritage, this is the place to go! The best time to go is in July. I cant remember the name of it, but there are some festivities around that time.

“A Superb Museum--Unique, Too!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

This unique museum is first class all the way. I took two young boys and they were attentive for quite a long time for two young boys! We viewed a holiday train display; enjoyed the children's area for a long while and saw an exhibit of western wear and saddles. First class all the way!
