“Wonderful Museum with a Great Collection”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2012

Very interesting building, suggesting a Southwest feel in the Midwest. Interesting and changing displays. Very professional.

“Food is OK, view is great, price is high.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2012

The cafe-style operation is nice with food ordered at a cash register then delivered to your table. I would call it "fast-casual" except it's not very fast. If you're on a lunch hour it's difficult to get in and out quickly. There is a good selection of regular items and usually some interesting specials of the day. On this visit we tried a complimentary glass of "watermelon water" - which was something new to us. The outdoor terrace is the main draw - what a gorgeous view out over the downtown canal and walkways. Fun to sit out there and here "Back Home Again, In Indiana" spouted from the combo clock and steam calliope next door. On both occasions here we have felt that the prices are high for a semi-serve-yourself operation.

“Best Western Art East of the Mississippi”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2012

Having enjoyed Western Art for decades and having magazine articles published about Western artists, believe me when I say how outstanding this museum is. There is no doubt it has the most important collection in the Midwest.

“American Indian and Art of the American West”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2012

Wonderful museum in downtown Indianapolis. Spent a few hours but wish it had been longer. American Indian and art of the American West Galleries were delightful. We happened to see a special exhibit of Steel Ponies - motorcyles.

“Interesting museum”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2012

some really good western and Indian pictures in the galleries, they look so real. Good location along the canal, nice cafe with outside facilities looking onto the canal. Good value for money. Only downside were people were complaining of the cold as the air conditioning was on but a lot colder than other buildings havebveen in.
