I'm going to enjoy any museum with some Monet, a little Rodin, and classy architecture. The Indianapolis Museum was very well designed--it's a nice combination of classical and modern. The layout of the inside is great: as you walk it allows you to easily see everything without having to double back and make sure you didn't miss any rooms.
The parking was $5, but there is no entrance fee. There is a coat room as well as lockers you can put in a quarter to use. Curators/guides are plentiful and they are eager to answer you questions. All of these things helped make the visit very convenient.
My favorite thing about this museum was the level of care and detail put into the placards describing each picture--in addition to the basic artist/title/origin/date there was a great amount of interesting detail. The text was well-written and worth the read every time.
