When in this area for business, I tend to stay at the Comfort Inn in Ferdinand or the Baymont Inn in Dale. Unfortunately, the rates at those two hotels were mega-inflated because of the nearby Holiday World waterpark in peak season. I bit-the-bullet and stayed at this hotel against my better judgement for several days. This is an older hotel and has outside room entrances, something I don't care for at all for safety reasons. My room appeared clean, but smelled like a truckstop (body odor masked with cheap aftershave). Amenities included a small fridge, microwave, and a variety of toiletries. It was difficult to keep the curtain pulled all the way to keep passers-by from seeing inside my room. The room is thermostatically controlled and the A/C worked good, but when it shut off, it banged loud enough to scare me awake several times per night. Housekeeping serviced my room all but one day, and did a good job. Unfortunately, of all the hotels I've stayed at (100's of them), this is the first one that I believe I may have been bitten by bed bugs. During my stay I received several small red bites on my arms and shoulders that even weeks later have yet to heal up. I never physically saw any bugs, but the evidence is still on my body today. I never reported this to the owners or staff for fear of embarrassment. It is evident that the owners read these reviews from the response to the other review on this hotel, and hopefully will promptly address this issue. I cannot recommend this hotel, and would not return when in the area again.
