We were staying at WBSH to celebrate a birthday. The birthday person picked Sinclair's as the location for the birthday dinner. We had read all the reviews and thought we had prepared ourselves enough that we would not be disappointed. Unfortunately, that did not work.
I don't mind paying this much for a meal when the service and the food quality is worth it. Neither the service, the ambiance, nor the food quality was worth the prices they are charging. I think I could have been happy if only one of those things was off - not all of them.
We made reservations for 9pm, due to late spa appointments, yet with only 4 other tables seated in the restaurant, we still had to wait for them to find us a table. Our waitress wasn't focused on the experience - there was no above and beyond with her. She reached across us, instead of around. She forgot the ice bucket for the wine. She paid no attention to detail and not once were we asked how our meal was.
The best part of the meal was the salads. We ordered a seafood dish, chicken dish and pork dish. The seafood was small, not meaty at all - and not worth even 1/2 the price. The chicken was over salted and over glazed and not eaten by the person who ordered it. The pork dish was edible - though the asparagus was over cooked and the Risotto under cooked.
The restaurant has the potential to be the fine dining experience it's advertised as, but it's not there yet. We had better service on the café side of Sinclair's that morning for breakfast, as well as at Ballard's Bar for lunch. A truly fine dining choice would be an excellent addition to this complex. We were very disappointed in the dinner, it is unlikely we would eat there again, should we return to WBSH.
