Terrific food in a small town restaurant. A real find.

“Wasted Lunch”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2011

I'll keep this short and simple. The service was poor (waitress had a very bad attitude). There is no smoking section, so the restaurant was filled with smoke that we could not avoid. The food was mediocre, at best. The Reuben was unlike any I've ever had (the meat looked like a "loaf") and the fish on the fish sandwich was overcooked and had the taste of a piece of cardboard. I'm not sure if the management has changed, as we ate here a couple of years ago and it wasn't bad, but it is really bad now. There is obviously no passion for cleanliness, freshness, quality or customer service at this establishment. I cannot recommend making the trip to Fowler for this.

“Bad service, O.K. food”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2010

Thought we'd drive to Indiana for supper! Forgot they still have smoking in eating establishments. Cigarette smoke was abundant. We each were given one package of crackers(2) with our dinner salad. Salad was on a plate slightly larger than a saucer, considerably smaller than a salad plate. Bread was never offered. Can't believe we were at Rib & Chop House and they had no BREAD! What kind of place is this. Grilled garlic pepper shrimp was very good, rice pilaf was generic. Rib eye was good, however the baked potatoe was cold throughout. Waitress(Deb) was rude to say the least. My husband asked for some sour cream for his baked potatoe and she said, "Sure". Mind you this was the first thing we asked for. Was never asked if everything was alright or did we need anything. Won't return, the atmosphere was extremely uncomfortable for us "out -of-towners". Some regulars at a table seemed to be intoxicated and obnoxious, possibly just got off the golf course. Couldn't help but notice their salads were bigger than ours was. Definitely won't go back to 100 mile SMOKE house!!!!!
