“It's a fun place to get away for a few days!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013 via mobile

We go to belterra at least a couple times a year. It's the only casino/hotel around with an outdoor pool. We love the pool. The steak house is great too. The rooms are clean and very nice! The only down side is they let people smoke in the casino.

We had so much fun. Swam and sunned at the very cool outdoor pool. Ate at the poolside restaurant and the counter service in the casino. The food was very good. The slots are kinda loose. The room was luxurious and fit for amore'.

We stay here on our way into Louisville. It's less than an hour into the city. The golf course is a magnificent layout. It is very well maintained although it showed some wear due to a lot of play. We love this course. The rooms are spacious with beautiful bathrooms, almost like the Bellagio. The public spaces are very nice.

We took our grandsons here to stay for a couple of days. They love the pool and we all LOVE the rooms. Beds are very comfortable and the bathrooms are luxurious. I always hate when it's time to leave!

We stay here about once every couple of months, and play here every couple of weeks or so.
First, I like the lower table limits that are available most of the time. Dealers are all pretty good here, and poker staff are also great.
The buffet is improved and excellent, nice variety for all pallets. If you come for crablegs on Friday or saterday night, try to arrive around 5:30. The reason is because there is a long like before 5 to get in, then there is usually a lull before all the people who get off work get there and the line swells again.
My biggest beef is our last hotel trip, again, the same. We book a comped deluxe room and they don't say anything at check in, just give us one of the classic rooms.
They are a looong walk to get to, carpet is freyed to the hard flooring, old style tv, just not up to par and in horrible need of renovation. It is a big let down.
It is just not right to have deluxe rooms show available online, and you book it and four out of five times, when we arrive, we are given the old rooms with a longer walk.
Good customer service would be to tell the patron they somehow sold out of the deluxe room and apologize, and offer perhaps a suite to compensate or a couple of buffets or something! We are both preferred members, so we play enough to pay for what we get and more.
3 out of 5 times, our alarm went off very early in the morning and we can't see to turn it off. The buttons are small and you can hit snooze, but have to get up and turn on all the lights and find glasses to find the buttons, or unplug it but then you don't know what time to get up or what time it is, it's just aggravating!
Complained before and housekeeping was nice when they called later, and offered a free room, but we already get free rooms so did not take them up on it.
They told us that they would have a meeting and address this issue with their staff. My husband complained on a survey about this again, but haven't heard anything on it yet.
Will post here if they are nice about it and how they handle the situation because there are a number of us who have experienced this.
There is a dealer, Melissa who deals Mississipi Stud who is especially friendly and remembers your name even if it has been months since you were there. That is a nice touch! Kudos to her.
Actually makes my choice sometimes when walking by tables, trying to decide what to play.
The staff at buffett, rewards desk are always courteous and friendly!
. Also, take the plastic ice liner with you when you go to casino, then we you come back up, you can grab ice to take to the room on your way, saves a lot of walking!
Slots, like everywhere are pretty tight, but a fun way to pass the time, just set a limit of what you are going to spend on that.
Carpets need cleaning on boat, but the bathrooms are all immaculate, kudos to the staff there.
Nice selection of slots on both floors, wish they would bring in some 50 cent three line wheel of fortune machines!
Currently they have a promotion if you are on facebook or twitter, go to their page and click on the links to boostchatter.com and sign up. Everytime you like a comment or post a comment or share a link, you earn points to cash in for free food, rooms ect. Kinda fun!
Overall we love it there. If they can just fix the reservation system for what rooms you book and if they cannot provide that, then compensate the patron, update their old rooms, that is my only real complaint.
The deluxe rooms are a treat to walk into! The bathrooms are huge with a large Jacuzzi tub. None of mine ever had a fridge though. Large room, sitting area, views of river are nice if you can get them, beds are comfortable, and they have more soundproofing than Horseshoe, but we always bring a fan to run just in case any rowdies are talking loudly while walking through the halls. Not sure why people do that, but it eliminates any issue for us if they do.
They have a lot of giveaways which is always fun to imagine winning! However, the same couple, especially one woman seem to win at least every other time. I found out she is an elite member and her husband is only preffered like us, but a lot of us that frequent there have wondered how the same person can keep getting called! One lady actually had a ledger and wrote down the names of people called for each drawing and circled the same lady's name and it was every other drawing seriously. We laughed but it is odd.
Overall though, the room glitch excluded, you feel welcomed here and it is a fun atmosphere!

Room Tip: Always book a deluxe room!!! And if you don't get it, complain because this is happening to a lo...

I met family here for a weekend getaway and had a blast. The food was good and I had fun in the casino. The buffet has some really good food, but is a little pricey. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The valet staff were very punctual and polite. I have been to this casino a few times and have had a blast every time, even if I do not win some money.

We stayed at Belterra just one night (LivingSocial deal) and only visited the buffet and casino while we were there. Our hotel room was very clean and upper class...not the most luxurious we have ever stayed in but better than most hotel rooms. The bathroom was HUGE with jacuzzi tub and large shower. Although there was no small fridge in the room there were two flat screen tvs. (One in the bathroom!). The bed was fairly comfortable and the room seemed well insulated from outside noise. Unlike so many Vegas hotels this one had soft neutral colors and a nice comfortable chair with ottoman to lounge in.
The buffet food was well presented and everything we had was delicious. We eat low carb and had no problem finding plenty to fill our plates. The crab legs were plentiful and steamed just right and FRESH!! We also had breakfast at the buffet and enjoyed fresh made to order omelets. Would have likes to see more veggie options on breakfast buffet but otherwise great breakfast. Hostess stand on Friday night was slow. At almost 9pm we had to wait nearly 15 minutes to be seated.
The casino is still a smoking casino. There is one small room that is nonsmoking but of course it's wide open to the rest of the casino and you have to walk thru the rest of the smoky casino to get to it. But it was quieter in the nonsmoking room so if you want to get away from smoke and nonstop noise that's a nice option.
Overall we enjoyed our overnight stay at the Belterra and will probably return.
