While travelling with my three young children on the way home from a weekend camping trip, our van broke down, and the tow-truck driver took us to this hotel. It was one of five at this particular Interstate exit, all in roughly the same price range (Best Western, Super 8, Holiday InnExpress, etc.). The manager and his staff, who seemed to be members of the same family, were very welcoming and expressed concern and relief that our breakdown hadn't injured us. We booked a room with two queen beds for a reasonable $49, The room was clean, neat, and quite large. A crib was found for my youngest child. The bathroom looked recently refurbished and was spotless.
I took my kids swimming in the deserted pool area, which looked a bit neglected. The water was very warm, which was fine for us but could have been annoying to someone swimming for a work-out. There were a few workout machines adjacent to the pool area.
I found the beds to be quite comfortable, support-wise. The bedding was cheap, but clean. In the morning we enjoyed a hearty breakfast including fresh fruit, make-your-own waffles, and hard-boiled eggs. The coffee at breakfast was quite good (coffee maker was also in-room), and there was fresh fruit juice for the kids. The dining area was very clean, and the staff cheerful and talkative.
Our van was fixed and returned to us about an hour after the stated check-out time. We were welcome to stay in our room for this extra time at no extra charge.
This is a fine hotel for folks passing through Indiana on the Interstate, or those with business in Evansville who don't wish to stay in town. The price is fair, and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. There are several fast-food and sit-down restaurants in the immediate vicinity, but little else. My children and I considered ourselves fortunate to have found such decent lodgings at a time when we had few options available to us.
