“an oasis for the monotonous downtown area”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2014

Finding this small museum in the downtown area, I felt really blessed.
This Home Museum is sooo beautiful! It is well-preserved, quaint, and rich in history.
Everyone should take a tour inside the house.
It's like travelling into the past!

“Step back in time”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2014

This house was built sparing no expense. It had all the modern conveniences of the day. The gilded hallway is stunning. Notice the mercury-filled door handles. The floor of every room is a different pattern of wood inlay. The ceilings are 14 feet high! Everything about the house was lovely. The tour guides were knowledgeable enough to give a great tour, but not enough to answer out questions. To protect the furnishings, no photography is allowed. Don't miss this house if you're in Evansville.

“Lovely place to tour”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2014

This mansion is just beautiful and our guide was very knowledgeable about it's history and all of the items displayed. Packed full of history about the family and Evansville as well. The only down-side was the cost - $14 per person.

“Beautiful piece of grandeur!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2014

What a piece of local history! So glad this has been preserved. Many, many years ago I served as a docent for tours. I especially enjoy the tours during the holidays as the home is decorated beautifully. Please visit if in the area, or attend an event in the Carriage House!

“Quick kiddie birthday!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2013 via mobile

Done and out in two hours, and you can get on with your life after throwing the required birthday party for your little tike and his/her little friends! He/she is too young to remember, anyway!
