“One night stay was EXCELLENT”

I frequented this place a lot under the old Casino Aztar brand. It was ok then but they have done a great job with the renovations at this property. We stayed in January for one night and used my "complimentary" coupon so didn't have to pay a cent! Our room was extremely modern, clean and comfortable! Like I said, the renovations are superb! Sleek, modern and clean! Kudos to the design team for their efforts in making this place up to date! Great job!

Whenever I thought or heard of Tropicana Hotels, I would think of luxury, pampering. I was quite disappointed when I stayed here. This place fell short. We paid a good amount of money at this location (booked two riverfront rooms for two nights..not to mention money spent for food and gambling, etc). I was very disappointed to see dust / dirt on the carpet in the corners, dusty desktop, no exhaust fans in the bathrooms, out-dated menu/room service menus, no mini fridges, etc. Their room service provider, Max and Erma's, could not get an order correct. Both of the times we ordered room service we had to call them back. The staff were very nice, transportation to and from places was good, we loved the valet parking and Boogie Nights was great. However, the absolute kicker was, after spending all that money that weekend, when we checked out and left, I realized that I left a pair of pants and shirt in the closet. I called them and they said they would send them to me. Great! I received them a little over a week later and was charged $15. Really??!! All the money that we spent there and you couldn't kick it back? How is it you can order a pair of pants & shirt from a catalog and shipping only costs about $8. I believe we'd have been better off going to Anderson or Shelbyville. It would have been a lot closer to home.

Thank you for taking the time to review your trip with us. We are so sorry that you did not enjoy your time and we fell short of your expectations. All of your comments have been discussed with the Managers of the Departments and our staff will be coached on their performances.
I am sorry about the cost of the shipping of your items. We have a large amount of lost and found items, so because of this, we can not ship these things back at our expense.
We are glad that you did encounter friendly team members and hope that you will give us a chance to change your mind if you are back in the area.

My wife and I spent New's Eve at the Tropicana and had a very good time. We enjoyed an excellent buffet provided by the casino. The food and service was great. We didn't have to wait and the staff actually seemed to enjoy greeting and serving us. The hotel rooms are excellent since the renovation and the staff are always friendly and eager to serve.

Room Tip: Ask for riverside room or at least river view.

We have stayed at hotels throughout the world. Some have been had more luxury and some not so much. The staff at Tropicana, Evansville, IN makes you want to return. Thanks especially to Sherry and James.

Went to Tropicana Evansville last week for the first time. Our casino host, Seth, was very helpful to reserve our room and answer any questions that we had. All staff were very friendly and seemed genuinely happy to accommodate us. We will definitely plan another trip in the future.

Room Tip: Request a river view.

My husband and I have stayed at this hotel quite often over the last 10 years. We are very pleased with the makeover to the entire hotel. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Plus, we love to gamble on the boat, and often have our room comped. We have also stayed a few times at Le Mergot and are truly impressed with it. Both facilities are to be commended for the fine service they provide. As a matter of fact we will be there later this week.

Room Tip: We enjoy asking for a river view room.

While I appreciate the remodel of Tropicana (formerly Casino Aztar), I wasn't exactly blown away. The phrase "Lipstick on a pig" keeps coming to mind. The décor is a step in the modern direction and the rooms smell better. I recently stayed with a voucher I was given by the casino for being a TropAdvantage member, which lowered the rate to a mere $25. This is the incentive I need to stay and play at Tropicana. The following is my Pros & Cons list for Tropicana Hotel.

Pros:
In-room refrigerator available upon request
Updated rooms (No more smoke smell)
Clean lines and simple décor in the room and bath
Connected to casino, 5 minute walk via skyway.

Cons:
No vending machines on room floors.
4pm check-in
11am check-out
Quite possibly the world's tiniest amenities (maybe two quarter-sized blobs of shampoo/conditioner)
No pool or gym

Thank you for your recent review of our Hotel. We are proud of the renovations that we have made and for the majority, so are our Guests. We are sorry that we left you lacking on our progress. We do not have a pool, but we do have a workout area at both of our hotels. On your next trip, if you do not like the one at Tropicana, please let us know and something else could possibly be worked out. Our amenities in the rooms are standard size that most hotels use and are complimentary items. If more are needed, we would be pleased to send more of an item up. We are pleased that you did find the room clean and updated. Our check in and out times are on line with others in the area, but if you arrived earlier and needed to check in, we do try to accommodate our guests when this happens. We also try to give late check outs whenever possible. Please give us another chance to WOW you when you return to the area. Thanks, Lynn
