The Baymont in Evansville (west side location) was one of four hotels we stayed at on our recent trip to southern Indiana. Although second in price, it was well below that in value.
Among our problems....one room had a badly leaking air conditioner and we had to move at 11 PM at night.
A group of young adults got in a big fight, resulting in multiple police and rescue units coming to the hotel. Blood was all over, and the next day, was still found in the Guest laundry. We had to call the front desk to have someone clean it up, which is a big health hazard. The Guest laundry machines were dirty and inefficient.
The complimentary breakfast buffet was fair, but they made it clear that they wanted to save as much money on it as possible. The staff were packing it all away 5-10 minutes before it even closed.
The pool/hot tub area was mediocre. The hot tub was kept at such a high temperature that no one could really use it, and no option to lower the temperature was available. (Well, that keeps them from having to clean it as often, if no one can use it!) The pool door was locked and room keys did not work. You had to figure out that a door further down the hall was accessible, and I was directing other guests on how to get in.
This is not a terrible hotel, but I would not return, and did not feel the value was there, as compared to a competitor such as Lee Inns and Suites or Fairfield.
