We arrived about 3 pm and checked in to our 3rd floor room.As I understand it,this hotel is owned by the same people with the La Quinta next door.In fact, several employees I had seen before at La Quinta were coming to and from this hotel as well.Though there appeared to be no changes of sheets while we were there,it did make us wonder whether,or how often, the sheets were changed. The house cleaning here consisted of fluffing the pillows and making sure there were towels and paper goods in the bathroom.
The hotel was relatively quiet considering the freeway-side location. The staff was reasonably polite, and the breakfast room, with fewer items than the La Quinta next door, was reasonably well equipped. The only problem was that there were 3 or 4 tables for about 100 rooms. Not nearly enough for the number of rooms. It appeared to be difficult for the lady at the reception, who also stocked the breakfast room,to keep up at times,as guests were coming and going and the food disappeared pretty quickly. They also have a sort of happy hour each eveing from around 5 to 7 pm.They serve beer, wine and mixed drinks. We are non-drinkers,so
we did not participate in that.I did notice that someone, possibly a small child, spilled a whole bag of small hair bands-maybe 50 or so-by the 3rd floor elevator door. The bands remained there for over 24 hours. The hotel was a good value for the price..about $25 less than the neighboring La Quinta,Considering that we were only there to sleep, the luxury was not so important. In summary,it could be a bit cleaner. There was a severe storm the first night, but that actually helped us sleep.
It is close to everything on Evansville's east side,so distances are short to most necessary services.I DO recommend it.
