Just came back from a two night stay while attending a Notre Dame football game. The hotel is very easy to find and has a great location, right off the toll road. The staff could not have been nicer and the place was clean. But, there were definitely things I would have improved upon. The decor looks a little worn. Since the whole country theme isn't my taste I tried to look past that. When we went into our room (non-smoking), we noticed a slight locker room smell to it. Not overwhelming but definitely there. The shower made quite a lot of noise. Not a good thing when I had some preteens with me that I wanted to sleep while I got up early. The toilet didn't seem to flush properly either. It would eventually empty the bowl but seemed like it was on the verge of overflowing at any time. Towels and bathroom amenities were nothing special at all. Beds were clean and comfortable. While the room had a microwave and fridge (which is great to have) I definitely wouldn't describe it as spacious. The breakfast was fine. Nothing special at all but certainly acceptable. Donut selection was limited but there was a variety of cereals, some fresh apples & bananas, yogurt, bagels & toast, biscuits & gravy, and make your own fresh waffles. The waffle maker got messed up from a guest not following directions but the staff quickly fixed things. The pool and hot tub were clean and fine but located in the basement. The acoustics were horrible so more than a couple people there made it sound like a really loud party. There was a nice workout room next door (treadmill, eliptical, bike, weight machine, TV) with a glass window between them. Located within walking distance are a few eating options and many more are within one mile. I didn't like the jacked up price for a football weekend but that's to be expected. If I was staying there on a non-football weekend I would probably rate it much higher. But, with a $200/night price tag, it certainly isn't worth it.
