I have never been disappointed by breakfast at a Cracker Barrel and this one in Elkhart left everyone smiling. My fifteen year old had pancakes with baked apples, which were thick and plenty. My wife had the Old Timer's breakfast with bacon that was crisp and crunchy (not greasy). I enjoyed the multi-berry pancake breakfast, filled with blueberries and topped with strawberry slices. And instead of maple syrup, they offered raspberry. Yummy and refreshing. The strawberry dishes come out in spring, and it's a treat. Our oldest son chose a cheeseburger and it was disappointing. The burger seemed bland, even with melted cheese, and they offered sweet pickles instead of dill. It just confirms my lunch experiences at Cracker Barrel. Still, you can't beat Cracker Barrel for ambiance. Our younger boy was at a separate table with his soccer friends, and they went walking around while waiting to be served and had competitive checkers. They wouldn't play checkers at home, but had a ball here. And when we left, there were dads and boys in rockers on the long front porch, waiting to be called, rocking away. Cool!
