Although there are hotels that are closer to Holiday world, we decided to stay here after finding less than encouraging reviews or simply prices that were more than we cared to pay. With construction on 64, it was about an hour's drive away but was along the route for our return trip. I used a coupon I found during our trip down in a "Indiana-Kentucky Travel Coupons" booklet at the 22nd mile marker rest stop along 65 S to book the standard double beds room for $70 on the morning of our stay (only walk-ins, no call aheads) which was far more affordable, especially considering the indoor pool and free breakfast, compared to what I found online for other places.
The service was great as all of the employees were extremely kind to my family and helpful with suggestions for our trip (allowed us to check-in early, let us grab something from the breakfast bar for our trip to HW, warned us of the construction delay on 64). The room seemed clean and fine to me and included a fridge / microwave / free wifi, but my wife and daughter thought the bathroom had an odor. The mattresses seemed decent and the pillow options allowed for personal preference. Breakfast was well-stocked with eggs, sausage, biscuits & gravy, cinnamon rolls, and various other pastry options. The pool was small, but worked well for our 2 children.
Overall, it was a very good stay at a very good price. We will definitely consider returning here the next time we visit Holiday World or anything else in the area.
