“Room was extremely comfortable. Service...not so much”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 days ago NEW

Chose this hotel for its rate and proximity to downtown Louisville for the KY Derby Marathon. After a long day of travel and marathon expo, arrived at the hotel a bit late. Tired and wanting to get bedded down quickly for early wake up for the race. The check in clerk was a bit charming, but a bit overwhelmed and frustrated. However, she diffused her frustrations with a lot of 'sweetie' comments, etc. But as for helping us with simple requests, she was not having it.

The room was comfortable, clean, and cozy. No complaints.

They also were nice to offer a late check-out of 2pm. After running in the rain all morning. And working our way back to the hotel. We found the room keys did not work. So back to the desk returned to get our keys working so we can shower and get on the road. This time, the lady at the desk was extremely snarky with her comments and said "You KNOW its 1:50 don't you?" Well, taken back, we apologized to her that she was so grumpy and quickly went to the room and got out of there.

En route out of the hotel, we did encounter a housekeeper on our floor who was VERY nice and gracious. I apologized for being so late getting out but she actually was very nice and congratulated us on our race (she saw the medals we were wearing) and told us to take our time. She was saving our room for last.

Overall, the hotel was Average.

We were in town for Derby Mini-marathon and enjoyed a 2 night stay here. Daughter and boyfriend drove in from Chicago. The package deal was terrific for 2 night stay and dinner theatre. Hotel under renovation, but after running in the rain for over 2 hrs, the hot shower felt wonderful! Beds very comfortable. We paid extra for a breakfast buffet, was adequate. With all the helacious road construction, wouldn't know where to go for breakfast instead. Husband enjoyed pool after we crashed from the race. It's our third time here and a great value. Close to dining options on Ohio river. Right across river from Louisville. If the weather hadn't been so bad we would had spent more time there after the race. Will try again next year!

The hotel is clean and nice. Good enough for all your basic needs.

Has an indoor pool which we loved! Restaurant inside, breakfast was ok, but dinner menu is wonderful!

It does not have business center, one part of the building is still under construction but this is understandable.

Registration was easy,

The staff was friendly but there were times when they were annoyed and looked and answered to our questions unfriendly, I felt this happened when they were under a lot of pressure, I was afraid to ask for questions or help, I felt I was bugging them. Change of moods in the staff all the time, one day they were so nice and kind, all of the sudden next day they looked so irritated and annoyed,

Above all the service was good.

The hotel is only 11 minutes from the International Louisville Airport and just 8 minutes from everything!! There is nothing outside the hotel to do, but if you have a car you can easily cross over the bridge from Indiana to Kentucky Downtown!

If you have a budget and want a hotel clean, nice and within reasonable rate in this area, then, I recommend this hotel!

Joab

Check-in was easy and we got a really good deal through Trip Advisor. The hotel is being remodeled but everything was clean and the gentleman who greeted us was super. We hope to stay there again soon.

The room was acceptable, Was in town for business. There is no free breakfast. There is a resturant in the hotel with a decent breakfast buffet. It was about 7.00 during the week but went up to 11.00 on the weekend. I was not worth that much. Hotel bar was good. I would consider staying here again.

This was a horrible experience and if I can help it, I will never stay at this hotel again! It started at checkin. I was given the impression that I was bothering the man that checked me. I'm not sure whether all of the rooms are like this, but ours did not have a mini fridge, we had to search for the coffee maker (which was under the night stand), the toilet ran all night, I had to stand in water when taking my shower, the elevators took forever and when you did get on them there was no telling which floor it was actually going to take you to. The bed was fairly comfortable and the housekeepers were friendly. We stayed for a total of 3 nights and on the last night a busload of "kids" (I assume, college students.) checked in. They were allowed to slam doors, have elevator "races", holler up and down the hallways and use the patio as a place to throw up the alcohol they had consumed.....all night! This made for a great night's sleep before having to drive 11 hours back to our home state. When I commented about it to the front desk I was told that they had heard that from several people.

This is multiple buildings with a good distance from the main desk to get to guest rooms. The clerk gave us keys to a room that was clearly occupied so we had to walk a long way to get back to get another room. That one was blah. We had trouble getting the key to open the door. It took 3 tries before it would unlatch. The one positive was new towels in the bathroom. The tub was a jetted tub whose jets have been sealed. It is easily 20 years old. Parts of the facility were being remodeled. Our mattresses were NOT part of that. They literally creaked and the springs popped whenever we moved. The toilet ran all night. The water was Luke warm. Although the restaurant was good, we'll stay elsewhere next time we are in town.
