Friends in the area had talked about this place, so we stopped on a Sunday afternoon on the way back from Michigan City to Chicago. Now we know why they like it. We sat outside on the tree-covered patio and enjoyed the beautiful weather. Yes, it is an old house and small inside, but the patio is a treat. The service was excellent and the food outstanding. We shared the chef's choice antipasto plate, with unique offerings, then the veal piccata, which was very tender and quite substantial. A nice bottle of chilled Frascati was the perfect accompaniment. The catering store sadly was closed, as we would have purchased a bottle of the wine to take home. It's a long ride just for dinner, but the next time we're in the area, we will definitely stop again.
