“Not worth the Price”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2013

6 of us stopped in for a quick lunch and some had salads, and some had pizza. Generally the pizza was so-so, with a high price tag. The people who had the large dinner salads with an add-on of chicken, were charged for bread. I can see charging ofr bread if its a small salad, but a meal sized salad it should be included. Will not be going there any time soon.

“Good thin-crust pizza, ready ASAP”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 16, 2013 via mobile

We have carried out very good thin crust pizza twice from Villa Nova in Chesterton, IN, and have been pleased with ALMOST every aspect of the experience. The crust deserves special mention because of its sturdy but thin profile and slightly toasted taste. Sauce and cheese(s) are delicious.
A veggie version with fresh tomatoes was especially tasty.
However, a pepperoni was extremely salty , somewhat redeemed by the nice spiciness it imparted. A mushroom
and sausage was sabotaged somewhat by the mediocrity of the sausage, which was left in chewy pellets rather than crumbled and lacked flavor.
Nonetheless, if you like thin crust, well sauced, Villa Nova is worth a try.

“Went from very good to very bad”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 13, 2013

When I first started going here about a year ago it was by far the best pizza in Chesterton and Porter county. It was so good it reminded me of the pizza I used to get back on the East Side (Chicago).
In the past few months the quality has been going down hill. Less sausage, less sauce, less cheese.
I gave them another try tonight and even asked for extra sauce on my pizza when I ordered.
The pizza was again terrible. Dry, no sauce, not much sausage or cheese. Just a very BAD pizza. I have had better frozen pizza.
Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time or money with this place. Maybe they just got greedy, but they don't make a good pizza anymore.
Went from best to worse very quickly. Too bad.

“A Gem in downtown Chesterton!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

Chef Bob has some very tasty Italian fare coming from the kitchen. The pizza has a rich crust differing from the usual thick bread fare of most pizza joints. There is a wide ranging menu sure to suit most anyone's tastes.

“Good pizza - skip the Italian beef”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2012

I ate here on Sunday evening and ordered the Italian beef. I am allergic to potatoes, so I ordered the fruit instead of French fries. The grapes and cantaloupe on the fruit plate were very good, and it was a nice sized serving. I was a little leary about ordering the beef, because the last time the au jus was too greasy; but I thought I would try it again as it had been awhile. This time the au jus was too salty. I tried to dip the sandwich in it, but finally gave up when thinking how unhealthy that much salt would be. I did tell my waiter, and asked him if others had the same complaint. He acknowledged that they had, and he said for the restaurant it was a catch 22. When they take the grease out, it becomes too salty. My guess is that they are using too much bouillon. The sandwich did not come with any peppers which would have been nice. I chose not to order the cheese for an additional $1.00, so without cheese, au jus or peppers the sandwich was dry. Atmoshere is new and nice. Waiter did a good job.
