“Very nice and good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2014

The hotel has been lovingly restored to a standard I'd expect from a much pricier venue. The rooms are reasonably priced but of an excellent standard, and the quality of housekeeping was very good indeed. It feels like a proper hotel, not like a Travelodge or similar.

Room Tip: My partner and I were in Room 14 in the hotel bit. I think it was the smallest of the rooms and it w...

The staff could not have been more helpful although we arrived late. Rooms clean and spacious and the food was OK. In very good location for all Adelaide has to offer, when you have been travelling for over 30 hour this hotel is a real haven.

Room Tip: use the hotel if possible over the Motel

We stayed for the weekend in a spa room on the top floor. Beds extremely comfortable. Climate control worked very well despite 43 degree day. Room was very quiet, staff all friendly and helpful and no problems finding parking. Lots of towels supplied for the bathroom. Great views from the balcony and being at one end we were not disturbed by any other guests going past our windows. We ate dinner and breakfast in the restaurant and although the menu was not hugely innovative (standard bistro menu) the food was good and portions large. Service was reasonably quick despite the restaurant being full. The only negative point I noticed was that the carpets in our room needed a clean and let down the otherwise great presentation. Would love to go back when the budget allows!

Booked a heritage room for one night as we were attending a birthday celebration dinner locally and didn't want to drive home. The room was very nice, large TV, small but serviceable bathroom, beautiful fireplace and decorative mirror. The bed was very comfortable. Parking was an issue as it was 42 degrees C and everyone was at the beach, there is no provision for booked guests to have reserved parking.

We spent two night in Largs Bay in the top floor corner room. It was large, the bed was comfortable, the service, dinner and breakfast downstairs all good. I could suggest better tea in the morning (maybe a teapot, instead of a teabag in a mug), but otherwise a good stay in a pleasant, less busy location. Would certainly return.

We stayed for one night in Nov. Fine if you want to walk the beach and take an early flight out of Adelaide. The price / quality of the rooms is average. Service was good and nice . The dinner was average. Too much food not enough quality. As mentioned for an overnight stay with a walk on a beautiful beach looking at sunset it was OK!
