“Take your kids with you”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2013

Worth visiting this history vessel. And after that, go to nearby Flisvos marina for a coffee. Take a stroll. There are also other history vessels in the area.

“Warship Averof”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 23, 2012

Good place to visit if you like ships - there's not just the Averof, but the Velos (an ex-US WW2 destroyer) a small steam cable-layer, and an accurate replica of a trireme. Modest entry fee, not sure of opening times. (I've given it 4 stars as I like ships, not sure Mrs. Althusian would have rated it so highly!)
Within a few hundred yards is a marina, shops and restaurants so no problems eating/drinking. I got there from Athens (Monastiraki) by going:
Metro Line 1 to Faliron
Exit south side of station
Walk about 100 yards E along the road, and pick up a tram eastbound
Alight Trocadero, and the ships are five minutes walk along road or through marina.

“Week-end in Athens”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 18, 2012

Nice hotel, good location, helpful staff, comfortable rooms, very clean, a lot of facilities - coffee, tea facilities, minibar, LCD TV, bathroom with hairdrier ,small pool, old fitness room. Good choice if you want to visit Athens or to have a sea side holiday. Pleasant idea to have a day in an island - Egina will be great.

“A bit of History”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2012

At Flisvos Marina, you can find a few old ships from the Greek Navy. Averof a battleship from early 1900 era, given as a gift to Greece by G. Averof. Its one of the very few remaining battleships of this era. You can go inside and see the living conditions of the crew as well as the technological state of that age. Recomended if you like this sort of things. Check opening hours before you go.

“Scumbag staff sloped off early”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2012

Went to see this unique dreadnought. Found the useless Naval officer in charge had shut it two hours early and slipped off home. The famous Trireme in the same museum wasnt there at all. Not impressed
