In the past we haven't gone to this restaurant often except for dessert because the menu items weren't intriguing. Armed with a gift card and after looking at a brand new seasonal menu we gave them a try for a Thursday evening dinner and we're glad we did.
Our server was very helpful for choosing the food even though a few things weren't going great that night like a misplaced menu and misaccredited appetizer special. He worked to correct both issues.
The appetizer special made the our starter worth it but had we had to pay full price, the cheese sampler was light on cheese and oddly didn't come with a knife sharp enough to really cut it well. I can't recommend you get the appetizers, save the money and tummy for the main courses.
We each had a different main course and we loved the interaction of flavors and textures in both meals. At one point we were offered freshly baked bread for free; it was good, too.
In the past we have had several desserts at Scholar's In Gourmet Cafe & Wine Bar and loved them all but not this night because our B&B had treats waiting for us.
The place has two main serving floors that I've been been on. This time we were up on top near the wine bar. When you go into that room look up to the ceiling to your right and you'll see some of the many interesting and unique decorations.
