“Great Hotel!!!! Helpful staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2012

My wife, 2 year old and I stayed here for a night instead of the family cabin (it was 92 degrees at night and the cabin had not AC or running water). The staff was great with pointing out resturants in the area. The room was clean and a good size with a frige. The breafast was really nice and gave us a great start. The pool is nice with bathrooms and changing rooms next to it. The only thing that was a negative was the ice was on the third floor only.

Room Tip: There isn't a bad room. We were on the 2nd floor and my parents were on the first. both were ver...

My husband and I recently stayed for a wedding and we were very underwhelmed.

We reserved a king room and were given a double queen. When we asked the front desk while checking in if they could change to a king, we were told that she "didn't want to deal with it." I understand that there are many other guests for various weddings, but telling guests you don't want to do your job is not good PR.

Our room was what we expected from a BW, small but not cramped; television, fridge, small bathroom. We were not able to log in to the Internet on our smart phones or iPad, which was disappointing. The beds were horribly uncomfortable. I woke up in the morning with horrible shoulder pain (not typical aches and pains as I am still in my 20s!) because the bed is just too hard.

The "hot" breakfast is a joke. Billing it as continental would be more appropriate. Firstly, breakfast is only open from 6-9 am, which after attending a wedding late into the evening is extremely inconvenient. Upon check-in we were informed a "hot breakfast" included eggs, hash brown potatoes, and sometimes waffles. The next morning, we were disappointed to find that there was only a pan of overcooked eggs along with the typical cereal, yogurt, and various breakfast pastries.

Overall, we were rather disappointed in this BW. It may be newly renovated, but there is still significant room for improvement in other ways.

We had a delightful experience. We had never stayed in this hotel in our past visits to Woodstock. The hotel was recently remodeled and it shows it. The complementerly breakfast was good. It included eggs, sausage, fruit, bagels and other typical items. We didn't use the pool nor the excercise room.

Our daughter lives in Woodstock and at times we have needed to stay at a hotel at times. Our past experiences were not good. But the Best Western was great. the remodel has made it much brighter in the lobby. The rooms were clean and nice. The pool was clean and the water temperature was perfect. The staff was very pleasant. Will definitely stay here again.

New on the INSIDE, that is. The entire inside has been completely redone recently. The materials are not super high quality (faux granite and some hollow doors). The rooms are well-decorated, beds and linens comfy and each room has a fridge and microwave. Quite quiet as well, and friendly service on the phone and in person. The rooms are nice, but not huge. There is a table, but only one chair. Wifi is free and fast. Walking distance to downtown (at least a mile) and a one block walk to Mixteca mexican restaurant, which I recommend as well. The pool is OK, clean and well kept, but not really a destination. There is no hot tub, but they do have a small workout room. The breakfast is pretty bleak, but I reject the processed high sugar, high fat crap that passes for food in the US. Fortunately, with the fridge in room, we had fresh fruit and quality cereals in the room. They have the windows blocked so they only open a bit. Makes sense on the first floor, but I don't understand why you would need to do that on the upper two floors. I hate this as fresh air is a must for two days in a hotel, so I lifted out the blocker bar - sorry! There are some cool looking hotels in the downtown, but if you're looking for a pool, or a chain experience/price, you should be happy at the Best Western. We chose an even numbered room, which faces west, because it was away from the road, but there was not a lot of road noise once it got late.

We were in the area for an equestrian event and sort of randomly chose this hotel out of the limited choices in the area. We could not have been happier.

The entire property had recently been remodeled and it felt like brand new construction. Nice upgrades in the rooms like fridge and lots of granite made it a very nice place to crash. From what we saw, this looks like the best bet in Woodstock.
