For the money I paid for this hotel ($140/night), especially when the location was not ideal, the service was rather substandard.

I had made a reservation for one night, and then called Doubletree to extend the reservation to two nights. When I showed up, the reservation was still only for one night. I had to wait until the next day, when I expected to check out, to find out that another room was available.

Upon check in, I was put in a smoking room, despite resquesting non-smoking. The in-room internet was also not working. To their credit, the staff worked to fix the problem, but the entire process took close to one hour.

Room service was decent, but one time the order was delivered incorrectly. And, on the last day of my stay, I had placed a breakfast order on my doorknob, only to wake up and find that it was never collected.

The room was large, but I have received much better service at hotels charging much less money.

Stayed five nights at the hotel. Had a non-smoking room but could smell smoke. There was no iron in the room. The breakfast was a rip off...buffet for $9.95. I don't eat $10.00 worth of breakfast. The shuttle driver was helpful, but there were no shuttles on Saturday. The conference we were attending ran on Saturday, so we had no transportation to it. Too far from any decent eating establishments, unless you had a car or took a cab. The food there was ok, but little variety.

When we made our reservations the hotel was a Whydham, by the time we arrived it was a Doubletree. There were others in our group who had problems with reservations and the front desk put them in very questionable hotels. The transition to Doubletree had not gone smoothly and as a result, the experience left a lot to be desired.

Depending on the shift, front desk staff could be helpful or not.

Very nice staff and great potential but a couple of very important things not right. Most importantly, room did not meet a 3-star hotel standard of cleanliness. I was getting into bed barefoot on second night and stepped on crumbs (from the wonderful cookie they give at check-in) and who knows what else, so room could not have been vacuumed. There was some mold on the shower curtain both days, and bathroom counter was not clean on the second morning - still had some coffee drips from the first morning. Also, although the room was supposed to be non-smoking it smelled heavily of smoke. It's tough to write this review because this hotel has a lovely desk staff and it has the potential to be a great value.

“Don't waste your money!”

Stayed at the hotel for five horrible nights. The room smelled of cigarette smoke even though it was a non-smoking room. I am highly alergic to feathers and I had to request THREE times that they come and take out all the feather pillows. etc. from my room. Even when I showed up at the front desk barely able to breath they still took hours to get to my room. The staff ran hot and cold, sometimes they were helpful other times seemed completely overwhelmed and grouchy. There was one good thing, the restaurant had an excellent Cobb Salad!

This was the first time i've been to Chicago and the first time i stayed at Wyndham hotel.
It has pool, hot tub, tiny recreation room, washing machine, dryer, fireplace in lobby, bar.
When reserving 1 king size bed, you'll get two TVs in the bedroom and living room, coffee maker, iron board, computer table with optional internet and little balcony. Although there is no microwave in room, staff allowed me to use microwave in the kitchen.
Everything was clean and not shabby what greatly surprised me.
Will definitely stay again.
The only drawback is 40 minutes driving to downtown, but i think it worth that relaxing and comfort atmosphere you'll get in the evening.
