“Chilled out hotel with friendly staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2013

We stayed at Xin Chao Hotel during the low season and we found it to be a very relaxing hotel with warm, friendly staff and excellent facilities.

Our room was next to the pool which was ideal as every morning we would simply spring out of bed, grab a sun lounger and stay there until lunch! The hotel also has a restaurant and when we ordered lunch at reception the staff brought it out to us at the poolside.

The pool is quite small but this wasn't an issue when we stayed as there was never more than 2 people in at a time although I would assume it is a lot busier during peak season. However, the good thing is that to get to the beach you just need to cross the road and go down some stairs and you can sunbathe or swim there if you want a change of scene.

We found the hotel to be well placed on the strip as you're walking distance to some great restaurants and bars. While we were there we found Mui Ne to be a combination of backpackers (like us) and families which gives the resort a nice vibe. It wasn't too loud and the hotel was quiet at night.

The owner was around the hotel for most of our stay and was happy to answer questions, although his staff are very competent and happy to help too. The room was comfortable with A/C and a large clean bathroom. A safe would have been a nice extra but we did feel our belongings were safe in the room anyway. The bed was quite hard but I've found this to be quite common while travelling in Vietnam. There is a spa which had reduced low-season rates but we didn't use it.

We were only meant to be staying for 2 nights but after the chaos of Saigon we were so relaxed at Xin Chao that we extended our stay to 3 nights. I'd recommend this hotel to families and backpackers.

Stayed last Friday night, we had two pool rooms. Twan at front desk very helpful, cooperative and friendly. Good location on the strip of Mui Ne.
The rooms are nice and simple, but hot water, and clean linens, all good for the price, and has AC.

We stayed at Xin Chao for 4 nights and although we didn't think much to Mui Ne the hotel was great. Large modern room with huge bathroom. The pool is lovely and clean and the restaurant was great. I was suffering from a virus and was so glad of the clean comfortable room and the fact it was really quiet at night. As mentioned by others the mattress is hard but didn't stop us sleeping soundly!

I also discovered a few days after leaving that I left my sunglasses there and have been so impressed with Twan (the owners) help with the matter. He has responded promptly to emails and gone to the trouble of getting them posted home to me whilst sending photo updates via email the whole time - this is real evidence of excellent customer service - thanks again Twan!!

I would 100% recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Mui Ne.

We arrived during low-season and planned to stay just for 3days/2nights. We had no idea which hotel to take. we checked several locations by simply walking in and ended up being chatted up by a very nice young woman, who works for a hotel called "xin chao". We decided to give it a chance and instantly liked the atmosphere at the hotel and the especially the room provided. After a very long bus trip from Hoi An it was like a little oasis. The hotel has a very welcoming lobby with a billiard table, a book rack etc. Although we wanted a hotel next to the sea, this hotel really is a great location, an alternative which was simply convincing. Our room was in the very beautiful inner courtyard, just next to the pool, which is very well taken care of. The room was very clean and quiet and had a comfortable bed and very cool and clean bathroom. The staff was always very friendly and responsive to all our questions and needs. The food was very, very good, we couldn`t stop to order and eat, obviously we were very starved. In particular the food plates (which are part of the great breakfast too) and the ice cream were very good. If we were not windsurfing at the beautiful beach and sea (despite some jelly fish) or exploring the Mui Ne area (small Cham area, fisher village and market,...) we liked to spend relaxing time at the pool area, simply reading, chatting and playing backgammon (which was provided by the hotel as well). The owner, who was very friendly and always present at the hotel and even administered guests needs personally, shared lots of insights and stories/experiences with us. We did not use the attached spa nor rent motorcycles directly from the hotel. The room rate was very good (low-season rate) and the overall price-performance ratio was very good! So we ended up staying for 4days/3nights. We enjoyed our stay very much and felt very welcome, was perfect to relax after some weeks of travelling. We want to come back to windsurf in Mui Ne and will definitely stay there again... recommended!

Room Tip: rooms at the pool area are very nice

Planned to stay 4 nights but stayed 3 as didn't find a lot to do in mui ne. Had wanted to try kitesurfing but on arrival asked the owner who said the wind was wrong...end of conversation no attempt made to suggest anything else etc.

Basically spent our time chilling by the pool which is beautiful & the hotel was quiet so we really enjoyed it.

Room nice & modern, mattress unbelievably hard! Had read numerous TA reviews & owners responses about choosing a mattress & it not being to everyone's taste but this is seriously hard!! Did affect our sleep but not a lot can be done other than changing the mattresses which I doubt is in the pipeline so just be prepared.

Breakfast great, good selection, fresh juice, tea with milk!!! Luxury! Hotel food also pretty good for lunch by the pool & really good Ice cream.

Staff all very friendly apart from the owner who we found to be a bit disinterested? Just felt a bit off to us.

Spa is ok- hotel offers a 20% discount so went ahead & had a massage, leg wax & pedicure which was welcomed with smiles & "yes 20% discount"...but when I came to pay I was told discount was only for the massage! I argued a bit & they agreed to discount the leg wax too but refused to include the pedicure?! I ended up feeling pretty awkward & paid & then realised they also overcharged me- not by a lot but just left feeling a bit cheated? Wax & pedicure were really good with attention to detail but massage one of the worst unfortunately. Her hands were like sandpaper & she kept answering her phone & just chatting away! Maybe avoid if you're looking for a relaxing experience!

Overall really nice hotel, mui ne wasn't really what we expected as couldn't really relax on the beach so we were glad for the pool etc...but owners could just be a tad smilier & more welcoming & I think we would have felt more comfortable there.
