“Lovely, welcoming family”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2013

We ate at Lap Thao three times in 8 days as we really liked the family, the welcoming family and reasonable prices. The food wasn't the best we'd had in Vietnam and some dishes were better than others, the Ban Xeo was not so good compared to others we'd eaten but the spring and fresh rolls were great and the salad excellent! They definitely aim to please and it's a nice chilled place to eat.

“Food was great, service needs improvement”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2013 via mobile

We visited Lap Thao for lunch after reading good reviews on trip advisor. The food was good and well priced. For 280k dong we got five spice pork, five spice squid, noodles with beef, chicken spring rolls and 2 tiger long necks (more than enough food for 2 people). The five spice pork was so tasty, I would definitely recommend it. I enjoyed the crispness of the spring rolls and the noodles that looked a little bland were actually very flavourful.

This restaurant is lucky that it has great food because the service we received was average. The waitress that took our order did not smile once and seemed bored. While the waitress passed our order onto the kitchen another couple walked in and sat down to wait for a menu. They waited for 5 minutes before giving up and moving next door. We didn't see any other staff until our food was brought out about 10 minutes later. A different waitress brought out our meal who appeared to be a bit more friendly. She even brought out some complimentary dragon fruit once we'd finished our lunch.

“Great food, great value!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2013 via mobile

My boyfriend and I ate dinner here on our recent trip to mui ne. Portion sizes were massive and the five spice squid was delicious and fresh. Staff were friendly and food was excellent value for money. Would definitely recommend!

“Dissapointing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 20, 2013

Dissapointing food, dissapointing service = dissapointed customer...

We were lokking forward to a nice vietnameese dinner experience, but no.. The food was uninspired, didn't taste much, the springrolls was a disaster...

Drinks ok, and the complementary banana fritters was a pluss!

“We found it!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2013

The correct address is 239 Nguyen Dinh Chieu. We stumbled on it after many failed attempts of trying to find it. The food is clean, good and cheap. I don't know why so many people eat at the bo ke street vendors. It's not clean and expensive.
