Description: The receptionist in our hotel suggested we tried this restaurant. We ate the freshest, tastiest food imaginable with decent sized helpings. Prawns with garlic, squid and prawn noodles wth mixed vegetables, spinach and garlic salad, spring rolls all served with kovely spicy sauces. Drinks included (big bottle of water and Tiger beer) Meal came to 120,000 dong, less than £4 for the two of us. Very popular with all the tourists and the Vietnamese - restaurant is on main street running through town but when you go in the restaurant is at side of the beach. We are back there tomorrow. One of the best and cheapest meals I have had in Vietnam so far. Do not miss this restaurant if you are in Mui Ne!

“cheap but no service”

Very cheap, average taste, you can enjoy your meal with excellent sea view. but if you want good service, you really should go another place. No service at all.

“Horrible service and average food”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2013 via mobile

We had lunch at this place because we heard it was a nice family runned restaurant. Having spend 6 days in Mui Ne we can say for a certain that there are far better restaurants. The food was normal, not really that good. But it was the staff and their service provided that was a very sad experience. Never before in south-east Asia has staff been so rude. When the springrolls were sold out they just threw the menu back on the table. Later they tried to charge us for them anyway... . And one young guy repeatedly ignored us and even made a rude gesture.
Normally i am not one to write a bad review so easily as an experience depends on many things and everybody can have a bad day. But this place i would definitely not visit ever again, even though the lonely planet says is a nice place.
Lots of things to improve their and we heard more people complain while being there... .

“value for money, nice location, no service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2013

Come here to get a really cheap meal and good seafood. But dont expect more.
The service is basically not existing. Mixed up orders, no eye contact. Almost funny.
Breakfast is quite decent, but dont go for chicken, beef or pork.

Nice location right at the sea with beach atmosphere.

“Eat where the locals eat!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2013

We found this restaurant on our last night and wished we had found it earlier. It's a laid back place right on the beach. The food is incredible and the atmosphere is fun and busy. They specialise in local fresh seafood so the place is packed with locals. We had to pull up a couple of crates to substitute chairs at first. We absolutely loved our authentic local experience. It's definitely a bit classer than the typical street restaurants we're used to.

Despite all the other TA reviews I actually though the service was fine. You shouldn't walk into Lam tong restaurant and expect silver service. You'll have to order your meals and drinks from the cashier and actually get up to pay your bill too. So if that sounds a bit difficult you shouldn't go here. The staff are friendly and try their best to help you and their English is good. Really great food! A must visit while in Mui Ne (if you're up for it)

“Best place we ate in Mui Ne”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2013

Best food we ate in Mui Ne and although the service wasn't great it was no better at places that were twice the price. Cheap, very tasty food. We actually found the service quite quick, it was more that my meal arrived 10 minutes after my boyfriends but that is pretty normal in Asia!
