Description: The receptionist in our hotel suggested we tried this restaurant. We ate the freshest, tastiest food imaginable with decent sized helpings. Prawns with garlic, squid and prawn noodles wth mixed vegetables, spinach and garlic salad, spring rolls all served with kovely spicy sauces. Drinks included (big bottle of water and Tiger beer) Meal came to 120,000 dong, less than £4 for the two of us. Very popular with all the tourists and the Vietnamese - restaurant is on main street running through town but when you go in the restaurant is at side of the beach. We are back there tomorrow. One of the best and cheapest meals I have had in Vietnam so far. Do not miss this restaurant if you are in Mui Ne!

“tasteless food”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2013 via mobile

Place is Top Choice by Lonely Planet, but our meal was terrible. Not saying, that place is awful, food just has no taste. We had grilled fish and shrimps with garlic. Both dishes were tasteless, rice cold and service extremely slow and unproffesional. Generally place looks like big garage with typical plastic veitnamese chairs. I do not reccomend this place.

“Fresh, Delightful and Cheap!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2013

My tip here is that "don't order dishes that are in their menu, purchase seafood by weight, and be the one tell them how you want it to be cooked." And that's it. Also it would be better if you are going to be the one to pick the crabs and shrimps out of the aquarium. If you're ordering crabs, pick the female ones (those that have a big triangle shaped shell underneath it).
Another tip here is that, you know you're ordering seafood, so you don't want to ruin the flavor of the seafood itself. So if you're ordering crabs, tell them to just boil them in water and serve it with coconut milk or maybe just the traditional way. If you're ordering shrimps, tell them to just stir-fry it in butter and garlic or just boil them also in water. If you're ordering some fish, it's way better if you grill them, the same with oysters. Or if you can take it, try out fresh and uncooked oysters sided with lime juice.
If you really know your food, then you would know this. Ambiance and service were very good. Even went here the night after we ate here, because I just can't get enough of it.
LAST TIP: You could negotiate with the one selling the seafood, he could lower the prices for you.

“Dissapointing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2013 via mobile

After reading such a good reviews in Lonely Planet, we decided to visit this place. Unfortinately we did not get any food experience. Dish called "grilled shrims" ment 4 grilled shripms, without any additions or sides. Or even spicing. Dish called "fried noodles with shrimps" had just cold oily noodles and 3 fried shrimps.
Although, everything was very cheep.
We will not come back.

“Cheap + good genuine vietnamese”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

Went to Lam Tong's by accident (meant to go to Jibe's next door). Ended up returning 3 times during our 9d stay. Always good and never expensive. When you order, expect the dishes to appear in random order - if all of the table ordered soups as 1st course and one of you only main course, the main course probably appeared 1st with one of the soups... Never mind - our tour guide said that's the way it works in Vietnamese resataurants. And forget yr regular ideas of service, you get the food on the table and that's the service. Food was always fresh and tasty and you miraculously got what you had orded, although at the time of ordering, not sure the boy/the girl had got it. Always amazed to see the bill, for the quality and freshness of foof, it is a bargain. And the location is great, quite central at the beachfront. Nice background music, the breaking of the waves!
