This hotel was filled with a plethora of aromas. We never knew what we were going to smell whenever we stepped into the hall, elevator or lobby. Our room even had a strange aroma (almost like someone had stayed there with a pet). The overall temperature of the hotel was HOT. The staff was very friendly but I made our reservation so our rooms would be next to each other and they were either on the opposition end of the same floor or on different floors altogether. Not much of a choice. When I worked at a hotel, a new reservation had priority over a guest that was already at the hotel and just wanted to extend their stay. We made every accommodation for extending guests, but if need be, they would have to change rooms, not inconvenience a new guest just arriving.

Thank you for staying at the Hawthorn Suites Wheeling! I am very sorry to hear of all of the bad odors you smelled throughout your stay. Sometimes other guests do cook, which can release cooking smells into the hallway, and I can ensure you we really do try our best to rid the hallways of smells. In regards to your room arrangement, we try our best to accommodate special requests, but cannot ask a current guest already occupying the room to switch rooms and move. We appreciate your feedback and hope you will give us another opportunity to serve you in the future.
