This hotel was filled with a plethora of aromas. We never knew what we were going to smell whenever we stepped into the hall, elevator or lobby. Our room even had a strange aroma (almost like someone had stayed there with a pet). The overall temperature of the hotel was HOT. The staff was very friendly but I made our reservation so our rooms would be next to each other and they were either on the opposition end of the same floor or on different floors altogether. Not much of a choice. When I worked at a hotel, a new reservation had priority over a guest that was already at the hotel and just wanted to extend their stay. We made every accommodation for extending guests, but if need be, they would have to change rooms, not inconvenience a new guest just arriving.

Staff indicated that this property became a Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham effective October 1st 2012 (was a Candlewood Suites), and that the property had not been renovated yet. Nonetheless, rooms and all public areas were clean and in excellent condition. The bed was comfortable. Plentiful and good quality towels.

The room has a work desk/eating table, full kitchen with dishwasher and full size refrigerator. Good supply of utensils, cookware, etc. One negative (common to many motels) is that the desk chair when adjusted to its max is still not high enough, forcing one to work on a computer at an uncomfortable level.

No restaurants or other services in walking distance, but Hawthorn provides a shuttle covering up to a 5 mile radius Monday through Friday (Saturday and Sunday are a problem without a car).

The breakfast is a far cry from other Hawthorn Suites at which I have stayed. To call it a continental breakfast is a stretch. Juice in bottles, muffins in packages, trail mix bars, coffee. Eating area consists of one small table. The staff indicated that within a month or two, a regular hot breakfast will be available.
