“Good Buy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 10, 2013

Room 170's bathroom door looked like it was hit with a machette. This should be replaced. The pillows were too stiff, need something softer. The outside terrace window was a disgrace.
The bed was lovely and enjoyable to see on. Good shower/water pressure. Clean room. Good breakfast included. Liked that we could get coffee anytime we wanted, but you ran out of decaf.

Room Tip: Our cleaning lady did a good job in taking care of our room for us during our three night stay.

Spent one night here for a surprise engagement party. It is a decent location and the price was comparable and the surrounding suburbs are very nice. However, the hotel common areas were dingy and needed some TLC. The rugs were worn and dirty and needed to be swept. The room was clean and comfortable-it is nice to have two queen sized beds instead of full beds. There is a "manager reception" during happy hour and the first drink was on the house which was nice. The breakfast buffet was adequate, but on a Sunday morning it was very busy and crowded. There was no place to sit and tables and floors were filthy.

Room Tip: Other hotels with comparable rate in this location offer only double beds, they offer queen beds.

I stayed at this property 1 night with my 11yr old daughter. We were a bit disappointed. The overall property is very run down. Driving up to the property there is visible roof and siding damage and weathering where paint is pealing and chipping. The season is fall so there isn't much going on for landscaping, the grounds were clean. Service at the front desk was great. We got checked in quickly and efficiently. Upon arrival to the room we found the chain lock had been glued in place and wasn't very sturdy. One of the drawers on the entertainment stand was broken and missing a side of wood. The bathroom area did not have a fan in the toilet/tub area. For a room with 2 queen beds we were give 2 towels and no wash cloths. However we each had 6 pillows on our bed, The room was clean to the first glance but closer inspection of the window and tub area left some questions.
Beds - the mattresses were thin and very firm springs were evident. (you could always use the pillows for extra softness)
Mini fridge was either warm or frozen and it was not easy to set the temp
There was a char and ottoman that showed some wear but were comfy.
Pool - the pool area is a very nice size and has an end to walk in and then goes up to 5 ft. There is a lot of seating and 2 table areas. they provide towels.
The spa area or jacuzzi is in a separate room opposite from the pool. This means you have to leave the pool area walk through the hotel and then enter a spa area. There is only a hot tub in this room and it's dark and secluded. It was very strange to me to see this and not cool if you wanted to soak in the hot tun while the kids swim. :-(
The TV was average and the channels were of a good variety. HBO etc.
WIFI was a joke we had 1 bar in our room on my android and on the IPAD, It's free but you can't even do anything with it. Our room was opposite side from the lobby on the first floor.
The breakfast buffet was alright...after we waited in line for 5 mins to get a clean plate (they ran out) we were able to get some eggs, sausage and pancakes. There was juice and some toast or milk. This was much better than any continental breakfast at other hotel chains. However they do need more dishes and/or dishwashers.
The hotel is in a good location quick on and off the interstate.
I wasn't too impressed for a little bit more $$ I would stay some place a bit more updated. It's not terrible though just a bit run down.

I met a friend here for the weekend, and we had a great time. We had a ground floor room with a little patio on the courtyard, right next to the pool. The room cost less than any other hotels in the area, so I was a bit concerned about what we were getting into. One review on here even compared it to a Motel 6. Nothing could be further from the truth. The lobby is beautiful and a very comfortable place to sit and relax. It was nice to be able to walk down the hall and get a hot breakfast in the morning. We used our little patio a lot during the weekend, and it was still warm enough when we were there to sit outside in the courtyard during the nightly happy hour. The room was very comfortable and nicely decorated. Even though we were right next to the pool, I never heard any noise or smelled any pool chemicals in the room. We used the pool both nights we were there. The water's a little cold, but the pool room was warm, so it was ok. One night we got a deep dish pizza from Rosati's right across the street from the hotel, and it was really good. There are a few things you could complain about at the Clubhouse Inn, but I can't see the point. We got a great place to stay for a really good price, and we are planning to meet there again in the Spring for another weekend getaway..

For meetings held at the Brookfield Zoo, six miles away, we stayed in a suite at the ClubHouse Inn for $109.89 a night including taxes and a free breakfast. The suite enabled my husband and I to separate our work and sleep schedules and was well-outfitted with a refrigerator, coffeemaker, microwave and second sink, large-screen TVs—plenty of desk space. The internet was not fast, but it worked ok and was free. Windows opened, good reading lights at couch, bedside and desk. Our room was on the second floor overlooking a very pleasant courtyard—no elevator—but quiet and clean, #254. We walked to the little mall across the street for a snack from the Chinese ‘food court’—nothing fancy but very friendly service, same at the mall’s sporting goods store, where my husband was able to buy a bathing suit for the pool at the Inn. Only one minor issue with room—the space in which the bathtub and toilet co-resided did not ventilate well.

Our first night we went out to Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen as recommended by friends and earlier TripAdvisor review—terrific place, friendly casual atmosphere and good food, just half a mile down the road in front of the hotel—# 921 Pasquinelli Drive. My Greek salad was the best I have had, tossed perfectly and it was not their specialty. My husband was surprised by the larger Pacific oysters in his gumbo but liked the gumbo.

This Inn has a zoo package—we didn’t happen to use it, but we noticed. Also, it allows pets. Since we often travel with our cat—but not this time—this was an un-used plus. The Brookfield Zoo conference and dining rooms were an amazing experience, described separately.

Room Tip: Room 254, a suite was pleasantly spacious.

I recently stayed at this hotel because of a nearby conference. What a dump. The breakfast is terrible. No creamer for the coffee- only powdered coffemate. The stair case was covered with debris, lint, trash the entire weekend. Our bed was lumpy and the covers felt dirty. The AC gurgled all night. We could not buy a soda. the machine on our floor was broken. The employees never make eye contact. They always look miserable. It is a low budget hotel , with bad food, dirty rooms, worn carpets and smells old and musty.

I was on business and had stayed here before on a fluke. I came back three years later. Clean rooms, happy hour - yay! each adult gets 2 drinks and breakfast is included. Breakfast, as at many of these sorts of places, is nothing to write home about - but if you need a quick coffee and some scrambled eggs to get you going, it's fine. I think it was about $80...much less than other hotels centrally located. yes, it';s suburbs, but Midway Airport is 10 miles away which made it very convenient. Indoor pool which I don't like, but this must be geared to the professional who has no time to lay around a pool. For a real treat - go to Pappadeaux Seafood restaurant near by. There's also a small mall across the road with Chinese, Pizza, etc. This is not the hotel to come to if you need room service....but for the price, you can find dinner quite close by.

Room Tip: all the rooms are ground floor, I believe, and quiet...
