“The perfect place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2013

We couldn't have stumbled across a more perfect retreat. The room was large, clean, bright and with stunning views across the surrounding countryside. The hosts were without fault, being very kind and thoughtful. Even providing us with bicycles and information in English, to explore the local area. Breakfast was well prepared and presented, with more food than you could eat, which was wonderful for my growing 14 year old son, who can eat you out of house and home. There is even a little kitchen area and a microwave, which came in most useful on the one evening we didn't feel like eating out !

We stayed 3 nights at Biest-Stro and it was wonderful! The place is easily reached thru bus nr. 33 from Centraal Station Amsterdam, then after just 1 km you reach an idyllic Dutch village surrounded by fields where sheep, pony horses and cows graze peacefully... The lodging is a pretty cottage with 2 rooms and a common kitchen/living room where every morning a HUGE breakfast (for Italian standards at least!) is served. There is also a fridge and a microwave oven. We had a very comfortable room and a bathroom with shower, everything was well furnished and spotlessly clean.
Owners Henk and Annemieke Hagedoorn are extremely helpful and pleasant people, we were also invited to take part in the village's festival that was fun with good music and beer... unfortunately we were very tired with walking all day and couldn't stay long.
Henk came to the bus stop to fetch us on our arrival and his wife took us to the same place on our departure, but they were available to accompany us to the train station without our asking.
An extremely pleasant stay, we're sure to come back if we'll be able to return to Holland.
