Attempted to check into the Sleep Inn in July. Despite having a confirmed reservation in hand we were refused a room. We reconfirmed the reservation with the 800 number but the front desk clerk still refused us a room. He would not listen to a word we had to say nor the 800 number as they tried to help him locate our reservation. As we tried to get a word in he kept repeating that we were not listening to him, our reservation had been cancelled and he had no rooms. We kept trying to say that we had a confirmed reservation. When we wouldn't drop the matter he threatened to have us thrown out of the hotel. After an hour on the phone with the 800 number they found us a room at a nearby Comfort Suites. I can still see our reservation online so there seems to be no good reason for us being turned away other than pure incompetence. I wrote a letter complaining to Choice Hotels. They refunded my money when the Sleep Inn refused to respond. What kind of hotel refuses to make amends and doesn't even respond to its international headquarters. I would advise against making a reservation at this hotel because a confirmed reservation will not guarantee you a room.
