Just visited this hotel to visit our daughter in Evanston. This was close to her. A little bit hard to understand directions at website, but we did find it. Not a bad location for restaurants and there is a small strip mall with grocery store (Jewel) across the street.
We were a party of 4. Our two teenage boys and ourselves had trouble sleeping in double beds. I could not book queenbeds. The rooms seemed clean enough, but dark and in need of updating. We did not use the pool. We just needed one night to sleep, but none of us got any because we were too crowded.
The one bright spot was the big breakfast they serve in their restaurant free. You must enter though lobby. That made the room rate more reasonable and filled teenaged boys. I only picked this because Evanston hotels were off the charts. I wouldn't look forward to staying here but, if I had no other choice I would.

This hotel is well located, but otherwise unremarkable. The hallways smelled bad, they did not credit my Choice Privlegeds account for the stay even though I gave them the number, and the drains did not work in the bathroom (we had to be moved). The price was also too high. I would not recommend this Comfort Inn to anyone staying in the North Shore Area.

“Worst Stay In History”

I stayed here on business for 3 days. During that time, I never had maid service and had to ask for new towels twice. The rooms are in need of not only an update but a good cleaning. When I asked to speak to a manager, I waited for 45 minutes and never saw her. The maids sat around right outside of my room most of the day. I had another need and had to wait on the desk clerk to finish her personal cell phone conversation before she would attend to me. The price was very high for what you get here. From now one, I will pay the extra money and stay at the Hampton in Skokie. Never again.

I checked on many hotels in the area and this one is priced well for its location. The room was clean and very large with a love seat and nice view along with nice features like an ironing board and hair dryer. I will agree with others that it is in need of updating, but you can go ahead and pay 50% to 100% more and get a brand new room. The staff was great and very professional. Don's had a wonderful breakfast buffet - best I've had. The restaurant also had some wonderful food.

I stayed here for one night with my 6-year-old son.

What I liked: The rooms were well cleaned, the staff was friendly, the mattresses and bedding were comfortable, the rooms provided ample space, parking was free and plentiful, the pool looked nice (although we didn't get a chance to use it), The breakfast was great (we were able to fill up, even with special dietary needs, and what we didn't eat smelled and looked great), There's great shopping right down the street, A large grocery store and bagel shop in walking distance. It's very convenient to the Skokie subway connector, and therefore it was easy to get downtown.

Why I didn't give it an "excellent": When I arrived at 5:00am there was a little, tied up garbage bag in the hall in front of the room next door. When I checked out it was still there - yuck!. The bed frames are old, and wobbly. They gave me a very outdate advertisement laiden map of downtown. My son and I wasted a good deal of time looking for an attraction on that map, only to find out from the barista at a Starbucks that it had closed 2-3 years prior.

All in all it was a positive experience, and I would stay there again.
