My fiancee and I spent Easter weekend at the Skokie Comfort Inn. We did little more than sleep there, as we were in town to visit her sister who is a student at Northwestern. It was in a great location for us as it was only about 5-10 minutes from campus and then about a 30 minute drive to downtown where we went shopping and enjoyed some of the fine cuisine in Little Mexico and China Town.

Overall, the room and hotel were nothing special, but then again we didn't have any problems with it either. Everything was clean and it was pretty much what we were looking for... someplace to crash at the end of the day. We never made it out of bed in time to try the complimentary hot breakfast, so I can't really comment on that. It was very quiet and within walking distance of the Old Orchard shopping center.

We planned on visiting Chicago and decided to stay at this hotel in Skokie. It was very easy to find, 94 isn't too far away and it's quite easy to get right into Chicago. The employees were really nice and we got free comp coupons for a drink. Nice way to start our hotel stay! The room was clean and spacious, the balcony was nice if you wanted to get some fresh air in the room. The breakfast buffet is what made us choose this hotel. Not many places have a free hot breakfast buffet. It was great the first morning we were there. The next morning could have been better though. Our first day/night there was better than the second. We had problems with the coffee maker, the hair dryer, and the toilet had issues the 2nd day. The pool is a nice size, the jacuzzi and sauna are a nice addition as well. The work out room is impressive too. The pool and jacuzzi could have been cleaner, but it was the weekend and there were a lot of kids staying when we were there. So considering that, the hotel is nice and I'd probably stay again. There are many close stores and restaurants right around the hotel and it's far away from downtown Chicago yet close enough! I'd recommend the Skokie Comfrot Inn to anyone!

Problem after Problem...Just not a good place to stay when in the Skokie Area. Only thing is that it is close to the Old Orchard Mall. For the price and value, I would go elsewhere.

The location of the hotel was great. Easy to get to, within minutes to Northwestern University. A lot of close restraunts. However, the hotel was not the cleanest and the outside doors were never locked. We had requested a frig prior to checking in, paid for it at check-in, and an hour and a half later, plus 3 phone calls and our groceries getting warm they still hadn't delivered it to our room. When the frig was finally delivered, it was brand new. (Which was nice, but then again, it wasn't cold at all). Some days our room hadn't been cleaned yet by 3pm. A room service tray from the room next to ours sat in the hall on the floor for at least 2 days. I can't say I wouldn't stay there again, but for the money, I think we could have done better.
