“Beautiful B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2009

We've stayed in many B&Bs and this is one of the best. It's a beautiful old home, and the owners have made it a very comfortable place to stay. Breakfast was great too. We would highly recommend this B&B if you are in the Springfield area.

Stay here over the memorial day holiday. What a great place to stay. Very close to all the Lincoln sites. Spacious and clean rooms, super nice hosts and delicious food. And on top of that complementry tickets to the Lincoln Museum.

Very quite and restful and a gorgeous well kept house/rooms.

We really enjoyed our overnite stay. Beautifully restored home in wonderful rural setting. Our room was well appointed & very comfortable. Excellent breakfast. One of our best B&B experiences.

Just to echo what everyone else said, Doug and Rosalie are amazing hosts, who make you feel comfortable within the first minute of meeting them. The house itself is beautiful, and equipped with modern luxuries. I will be recommending this place to all my friends!

Rose and Doug are most gracious hosts. They love to tell the history of their home and going into detail on the surrounding area. Their home is beautiful and the grounds are stunning. They were able to make suggestions on sites to visit and their restaurant suggestions were right on mark. The breakfasts were generous and most delicious. I even asked for a recipe and Rose was sweet enough to give me a copy. There was a small fridge for guests to use and Rose was kind enough to heat up some of our left over’s from the restaurant they had suggested. The driving distance to Downtown Springfield was an easy drive with good directions from both Doug and Rose. There is a swing on their front porch that was sturdy enough for my husband and me and we spent every night swinging along to the sounds of nature and watching the fireflies do their dance. The room was lovely and the bed comfortable. Through out the house the furniture and decorations were simply beautiful and there was the obvious feeling their home is filled with love and the work that has been completed is an extension of their love for their home. We plan on returning maybe making it our annual anniversary haven.

My 23 year old daughter and I stayed at the Flagg Farmstead B&B for a weekend to check out the Abraham Lincoln Museum, related sites, and drink in the local culture. From my initial phone call to Rosalie and Doug, we were treated like royalty. They called me back immediately, helped us choose the room that would be perfect for our needs, and helped us with travel decisions. They answered all of our questions and offered additional information about the surrounding area and sites. The home is absolutely gorgeous and welcoming. Breakfast was again, fit for royalty - Rosalie made her signature French toast (not your normal French toast) and Doug served the "courses" like a studied waiter. I cannot recommend Flagg Farmstead highly enough.
