We were pleased with the location...shopping mall adjacent to hotel, lots of great pizza right in the neighborhood. Pool was nice. The staff was friendly and helpful. Shaumburg LaQuinta looks a little tired, I'll bet they're planning to spruce it up sometime soon. Overall a good experience.

This is a standard La Quinta that shines in its cleanliness and proximity to a mall, Bennigan's and Denny's next door and a Target down the street. Convenient to major interstate. We had no problems during our stay here on a cross country drive and would stay again.

My stay with La Quinta Inn would have been nice, had it not been for the lousy policy that they had with checkcards. I am used to using my checkcard as a credit card, not a debit card. But, unfortunately, since their system cannot distinguish from credit/debit, it used it as a debit card. Because it was used as a debit card, I was charged an unknown amount as an "authorization" to use the card (probably for the room rate and a 15% authorization fee, I am told). I got charged for this initially and then the actual charge I was supposed to be charged. What a crock! Had I known that my checkcard (which has been used to reserve other hotel rooms with no problems) would be charged twice (the "authorization" charge would be deposited into my checking account within 3-5 business days, I am told), I would have used another way.
La Quinta was nice to stay and the workers were very polite and friendly, but I must say that the checkcard policy is a load of crap. While a nice hotel for the price, the hassle of the hotel are not worth staying in at again.

Nice hotel in a very good location, close to The Mall which was a problem for a shop-a-holic like me. Very clean rooms which were big and super clean. The bathroom was very big and also super clean.
The front desk staff were helpful and the free shuttle is good value. Takes you to station and many other place, we didn't have a car so it was good. Picks you up too. Great pool which was clean and a relief after a super hot day in downtown Chicago.
The breakfast is super good, a great way to start the day off. In a clean and well stocked breaky room near the reception. Denny's next door with there discount to guests is great, nice food and cheap.
I would reccomend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay very close to Chicago but not wanting to pay Downtown prices. It's only a 40 minute train ride to Chicago on a clean and cheap transport system.
Stay at this hotel, cheap rates but not a cheap looking place.
