“Expensive put very good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2013

The GRAND COLD SHELLFISH PLATTER was delicious and came with a frozen champagne, vinegar and pepper which complemented the oysters beautifully. The CRISPY CALAMARI were cooked to perfection as were the SEA SCALLOPS. SHAW"S SEAFOOD PLATTER came with delicate and light shrimp scampi, sea sea scallops and a crab cake. The shrimp was light and the garlic flavor didn't linger. The crab cakes were good but included some cab shell.
The LOBSTER BISQUE and the WILD ROASTED MUSHROOMS were a disappointment. The bisque's tomato base was too prominent and mushrooms lacked the concentrated taste that comes from roasting. The CREME BRULEE though creamy had a faint vanilla taste.

“Still the Best Seafood in Chicago & Suburbs”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2013

My wife and I have eaten at Shaw's previously but only at the downtown Chicago location. This was our first visit to their Schaumburg location. As my wife described our gastronomic experience, "The crab buffet was to die for!" Indeed it was! The seafood offerings go way beyond just crab: oysters, fish, lobster bisque, 3 kinds of crab, carved tenderloin, and the trimmings. Plus, there was a bounty of elegant desserts. Service was prompt and friendly. And the price is right: $56 per person. But be warned: reservations for the Crab Buffet are a must and they fill up early in the week for the Saturday night crab buffet. In all, it was a delightful dining experience that is well worth the hour and fifteen minute drive from our home in the Northwest suburbs. We WILL be back!!

“Great Fish in Schaumburg”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2013 credit card Amex Card Member Review

You have a couple of unique dining options here. We like to eat in the bar -- same great fish but a little more casual. Also nice dining available in the dining room as well as private rooms upstairs for company events. Good fresh options

“Tip top seafood resto in Shaumburg!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2013

Dined here for their Grand Crab Buffet. The place is in a mall so parking is not a problem although valet park is available. The Buffet has a separate room from the ala carte, its on the second floor. The wait staff is courteous and very pleasant. The buffet selection is great with 3 kinds of crabs, dungeness, snow and king crabs! The artichoke dip is excellent for a start. Crab cakes although spoon size is oozing with real crab meat. I find the lobster bisque a bit salty. The Atlantic oysters were fresh but wasn't washed well so there's tiny bits and pieces of shells( the resto manager has since contacted me about this after I posted a comment on Open Table and was very apologetic and promised to rectify this issue on oysters). No matter, I had a blast with their oysters. Not to be ignored is their tenderloin on the carving station. I'm glad I tried it for it was so tender and juicy and well marinated. To top it all, chocolate covered strawberries and creme brule! I'll definitely be back and highly recommend this seafood restaurant! The Grand crab buffet is worth your buck.

“Great Birthday Lunch!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2013

We came here with a $50 gift card. I am usually not much of a seafood person but I love shrimp. I ordered a delicious Razzberry Mojito (Bacardi black razz, raspberries, hand-picked mint, fresh lime juice, sugar) that was quite refreshing on a hot day. My husband ordered the Blackened Honduran tilapia, which he truly enjoyed. The restaurant is adjacent to the Tokio Pub. We were there early in the day so it was fairly empty, but our waitress was wonderful.
