Have eaten here 4 times now, twice on a sunday lunch time following a dog walk along the Jubilee River, and twice of a summers evening with girlfriends. The service on both Sundays was slow, having said that it was also very busy! On a weekday evening (though you have to order food by 8.15 as the kitchen closes at 8.30), the service was a whole lot better. I've tried a differend sandwhich each time......Brie and grape, Brie and bacon with cranberry, Smoked salmon and cream cheese. All were I thought, good value for money, as there was lots of filling. However last Sunday I tried the Farmer Giles......ham, cheddare and pickle. For the price I would have expected hand carved proper ham and full on slices of cheddar....what I got was that awful thin sliced processed ham from a packet, and grated cheese, and not too much of it either. Very disappointed.
That said I will go back and try something different just to see if it was a one off bad choice, as it's nice to have a beer and some lunch after a brisk dog walk, and to sit in the garden.
I would concur with the a previous reviewer also that the toilets are awful, and are in very bad need of a complete refurb.
