“I'm a good news first kinda' guy.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

The pineapple does have over a thousand combinations of sandwich that cover a wide range. The sandwich I had was nice 'The Southern Comfort' made from real chicken breast however the chicken was dry around the edges but this was moistened with a beautiful local beer. £7.95 for a sandwich does seem expensive until a big doorstep comes out with a generous bowl of chips

Now the bad....................................................................................................... but it's still £7.95.

The childrens menu consists of 4 fillings: Nutella, Peanut butter, darylea and one other processed 'food' that is full of vitamins & nutrients that are essential for any growing human being. I asked if my 5yr old could have a ham and cheese and the answer was either/or not both - even though I offered to pay. Not a good start.

I ordered my sons ham sandwich, my 'southern comfort' ON BROWN and my wifes Roast beef.
15mins later our food arrived and as you may have guessed my sandwich came on WHITE. Please bear in mind that during the busy period mistakes do happen however we were the only people in the building as we got there as it opened. My wifes wafer thin beef came with overcooked, steamed veg and potatoes that saw the dark side of a fryer - enough said.

To close. When an establishment messes up the first order of the day - I wouldn't want to be there during the busy periods. And it did get busy as it is a small place. I had to wait ten minutes to pay my bill and took another five to get out due to the crush at the door.

3/10 in my book

“Mixed experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 16, 2012

Sandwich was great as usual, from the very wide choice of options.

Service was warm, friendly and helpul, as usual.

Unfortunately, one of us had the Sunday Roast (beef) and was very disappointed to have too-thin, not very tasty beef swimming in far too much gravy - definitely the biggest disappointment we have had after numerous visits to the Pineapple.

So, maybe the message is for diners to stick to the sandwiches.....for which the rating remains very good

“END NOV 2012”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2012

Was a nice sarnie but the soup lets it down, 'a bit same old' each time you visit, no body to it, too tomatoey if that makes sense needs a few potatos and a good blend :-(

We arrived early and were lucky to get a table for two, but all or most of the other tables were reserved leaving the pub otherwise almost empty. In the period of 15 mins they must have turned away three or four sets of customers. If you revert to a no booking policy, people will wait for tables and maybe have a drink at the bar maximising profits too, reducing the disapointment. There were more tables outside but obviously the weather is cold and damp so thats a no go for now.

The staff otherwise were great and polite.

“A huge choice of fantastic sandwiches”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2012

What an odd name for a pub, nevertheless they serve good beer and an amazing list of sandwiches. The Sunday lunch is very average ,, o for a door stop size. Sandwich instead.

“Unique”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2012

Atmosphere is cozy without loud background music, friendly staff, clean toilet's... The sandwiches are large with various types of bread to choose from.. Along with your sandwich you have a choice of salad, chips or a large bowl of soup... The bread and ingredient's and fresh and at least 50 types of choose from.. I have eaten 'Still waters' which is cured salmon & avacado, 'Lap dance' prawn's & avacdo, and many more that I cannot recall... Sunday dinner is the best in the area but booking a table is advisable.. You will not be disappointed with this wonderful restaurant/pub
