i went to the Pineapple twice last week, once with my daughter to try their famous sandwich menu, and once with my partner to try their sunday lunch. both visits were very enjoyable and the food was great. This pub only serves sandwiches (apart from roast dinner on Sundays from 12-3pm). Don't let this put you off. The sandwich menu is huge, with fillings to suit every taste, and they are happy to make combinations not listed as well. The price of £7.45 is the same for all sandwiches/baguettes/bagels and wraps, however these come served with either a large bowl of chunky chips, a generous salad or a bowl of soup. so good value, especially given the enormous size of the sandwiches. They do have a few kids ones for half the price as well. The Sunday lunch at £7.95 was also very good value. The portions are very large, with 4 different vegetables, all beautifully cooked, 3 roast potatoes and yorkshire pudding. Kids roast is £3.95. One small criticism is that the meat seems like it is bought in pre-cooked and sliced. While really flavoursome, it clearly wasnt cut from a home roasted joint, but for the price the lunch was excellent, and you dont always want to pay gastro pub prices. The wine list is extensive, with wines to suit all tastes and budgets. I had rioja for £12.95 which was lovely. Real ale drinkers will enjoy the variety as well. I highly recommend booking as several walk-ins had to leave as it it so popular it is hard to get a table. however the staff directed them to a pub down the road. if you ring in the morning you should get a table for the same day. this applies to weekday lunchtimes as well. it is dog friendly, so if you dont like dogs i would avoid it as both times i went there were a few dogs . The staff are welcoming and friendly, the decor is charmingly rustic, the garden is well kept and big and the whole experience was highly enjoyable.
