“The only disappointment in glorious England!!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2011

Unfortunately this Guest House was the only negative exception on our recent trip to fantastic England. It did not live up to all the other wonderful Guest Houses we experienced during our 4 weeks in England. Everywhere we went the welcome was warm and friendly, as if we were friends or family. These facilities however were rather poor, barely running shower and worse than that was the way we were treated by the owners. They appeared to dislike foreigners, which made us feel quite uncomfortable. We did not like the stingy fruit selection and the food did not taste at all. I guess thats life, we have moved on.

Beautiful little guest house. John and Fay very friendly and extremely accommodating. Felt welcome as soon as we pulled up in the car. Lovely local pub down the hill by the riverside, had a great dinner. Without a doubt one of the cleanest and friendliest guest houses I have ever stayed in, in the UK.

Room Tip: Double room and bathroom very spacious.

Just returned from a weekend trip to Lindisfarne Guest House, Bath and was delighted with the cleanliness, friendliness and quality of breakfast. Nothing was ever too much trouble for the owners even when I had an early start on check-out day the owner's were more than happy to cook an early breakfast for me, you don't get that everywhere.

Thank you for your kindness and hospitality.

After reading all the reviews, you would think this place has to be pretty good. WRONG!!!! think again. Nothing is at it seems. You think that you are entitled to a full English breakfast because you paid for it- WRONG!!! Should you however be an English tradesman and have work to do in Bath - no problem. Original quote from the owner John to the tradesman, just loud enough for us to hear him at our breakfast table - "you have to work hard today, you deserve a warm breakfast". For overseas guests, - they get croissants!! Who wants bloody croissants??? When we finally got a warm breakfast on the third morning it was prepared in the micro wave and tasted horrific. Is it too much to ask to use a frying pan???? How wierd can it get? It is noisy, you are right on the main road out of Bathhampton. Hardly room to open your suitcases. There is no bathtub and that for 80 pounds a night!!!!!!!!! This place is totally overpriced, the owners are only interested in money to fund their retirement, which John and Fay told us is why they bought the guesthouse. Customer service - ZERO We are not interested in negative weather forecasts every time we enter the room. We really deserve to get our money back - fat chance of that happening.

We stayed here for a weekend in a double ensuite room. It was very clean, uncluttered and had all the facilities that we needed. Tea making facility with biscuits, TV, hairdryer, towels and toiletries, oh and sweets!! Breakfast was as much as or as little as you wanted, toast, cereal, full english, Porridge to name a few. All cooked to perfection. John & Fay's hospitality was excellent. It was on a busy main road but it didn't really affect us once inside the guest house. Parking was a bonus too. The bus into Bath stopped just a few steps from the guest house. You can, if you are feeling energetic, walk to Bath on the Tow Path on the canal. Book a meal at the George while you are there. We had a lovely meal, fresh home cooked food. We give Lindisfarne 10/10

We had four brilliant nights staying at the Lindisfarne. Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable, with an excellent hospitality tray refilled daily. Breakfasts were superb offering a varied menu with quality ingredients and as much as we wanted. The owners were genuinely friendly and helpful and they went the extra mile to make our stay one to remember.
