Saint Charles Place is a wonderful restaurant. The decor is an eclectic mix of vintage posters, exotic foliage, and French cartoons. The background music is a throwback to late fifties and early sixties jazz. The menu is varied and the food is all freshly prepared. I had the "skinny" prime rib, which came with a garden salad. The thousand island dressing is home made and delicious. The meat was prepared perfectly and just the right portion size. For dessert I had their mini-chocolate mousse. Again, freshly made with a raspberry sauce and whipped cream. This is an "old school" restaurant that does it right. I also recommend the shrimp cocktail, crab cakes, and pasta dishes. You'll find the wait-staff allows you to enjoy your meal at an even pace. You will not be rushed, but you will not be left unattended.
