“Overpriced - Paid $95 For a $65 Room”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2009

This hotel chain needs to review the rate it charges. The $95 rate is way too high for the level of quality it provides. The check-in was smooth with a friendly desk clerk. When I got to the room I was immediately disappointed. The furnishings were dated & cheap. The TV was the old conventional type & the reception was bad. The air condtioning unit was confusing. I put it on auto cool & it would shut off before the room was comfortable. I was constantly getting up throughout the night to adjust it. Needless to say I was not happy. The bed was OK - nothing to write home about. Bottom line this room was no better than at a Super 8 but they were charging me like it was a Hampton - it was not!
After all that happened we did not stay for the breakfast. I just wanted to get out of there & go to breakfast at a restaurant. I've traveled extensively & I've paid $95 for a room at a Hampton, Wyndam & at Spring Hill Suites. The quality of the rooms & overall the entire hotels were so much better than at Country Inn & Suites. My advice is find a room at the Hampton Inn. The quality & value is much higher.

We recently were in St Charles for a weekend baseball tournament and decided to grab a room instead of driving all the way home. I called late in the afternoon and spoke with Jennifer, who was probably the nicest person I have ever dealt with at a hotel. She made our brief stay great. We needed to wash baseball uniforms so the washer and dryer were very convenient. Jennifer helped us out with laundry detergent and dryer sheets. The kids had waffles for breakfast the next morning. The rooms were spacious and the bed was one of the most comfortable I have slept in. Thank you Jennifer for your hospitality. There is not doubt we will stay again if the opportunity arises.

Very Very Nice place - Clean - Staff very helpful. Breakfast easy and accomidating - well thought out for kids and adults. My wife is a sleeper - i am a up early person - and in both cases, coffee, OJ and other items available when i get up early (were talking 3 am).

Pool WARM - Hot tub HOT - and the pool area very clean - towels available.

In a nice area - so we did not have to worry about our car being outside. Mall, downtown and other areas are w/in 100 feet to 2-3 miles. Walmart just down the road for those items that you "just forgot".

Staff - were just plain nice people. Easy to get a long with - my compliments to them.

One item - the pool area has the "Scent" of chlorine - that when we were there - we had to open the outside door. It just "gets to you" to smell that all the time. That was the ONLY drawback - and we found away around it.

  • Liked — Staff and very clean place
  • Disliked — just open the door when at the pool - pool chemicals overwhelming smell

Average hotel- Rooms need a bit of updating.
Staff was never at desk any time I walked through the lobby. The only staff member who I saw always at the desk was the late night person. The breakfast room looks like it was recently updated. The rooms need new carpets badly. Also I would be nice if the rooms had a small fridge like many of the other Country Inns do.

This is a little charmer right in the historic district of St. Charles. The rooms were large and very accommodating. The free continental breakfast went above and beyond...including waffles, eggs, bacon, etc. The staff was friendly and, being new, the rooms were clean, bathrooms spiffy and well-equipped!

  • Liked — Location...right in the beginning of the historic district.
  • Disliked — Can't think of one thing!

I stayed at the Country Inn and Suites with my husband and two children, and we had a very good experience. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the rooms were very nice and clean. We had a king suite, and I really liked that there was a real door between the two rooms, so my husband and I did not have to go to sleep when the kids did.

The kids liked the pool, although the exercise room is very small and adjoining the pool.

The breakfast was a nice bonus.

  • Liked — The rooms and friendly staff.
  • Disliked — Crowded pool.

Since the Q-Center is full and we have to stay in theCountry Inn in St. Charles. It's about 5 miles from the Q-center and the shuttle bus does go there. Since we're the only one use the shuttle that day, the manager used his own car to pick us up at the end of the day. Like him, everybody in the hotel are very nice. We stayed in their King suite room. Similar to the AmeriSuite, the Country Inn is also located in a shopping area in a nice suburb. It's a much nicer hotel but smaller. The room is big, two separate TV for the completely separate living and bedroom rooms. The king bed is very comfortable and there's also a ceiling fan in the living room where the AC is hard to reach if the bedroom door is closed.

The breakfast is also hot but not as good as the AmeriSuite. The fitness room and the pool are very small but Jacuzzi works fine.

The room key always needs to be reset at the front desk, which is not very convenient. It also only have wired high-speed Internet. Wireless would be better.

  • Disliked — no WiFi
