Spent a few nights here on 2 occasions during the last few months.
Overall, service at the Front Desk is quite good-even when arriving at 6 AM after a red-eye flight. Room was not ready, but one was available by about 9 AM. Wound up having some coffee and running across the street to McD's for breakfast. Even at that hour, the night auditor was very nice, and correctly set up my reservation to reflect a free night coupon.
The rooms in this hotel are all 2-room suites. The living rooms have a mini-fridge, loveseat/sofa bed, armchair and desk. Plenty of lights as well. Internet access is either through Marriott's Wired for Business at 9.95/day including phone calls, or just 3.95/day for internet only! This is wonderful. All Marriotts should offer an internet only rate. Actually, internet should be free but that is another story.
The bedrooms have a king bed with the nice Marriott bedding. Bathrooms are large with a separate sink area, a tub and a stall shower. Water pressure was good.
Marriott Suites do not have Concierge lounges so Elite members get a complimentary breakfast in the restaurant. Decent, typical Marriott fare. Service on both occasions was mixed. The restaurant could also be cleaner. The place was not busy at all any of the days or meals I ate there, but service was bad more often than not. Not mean, just inattentive. On a scale of 1-5 I'd give service overall in the restaurant and lounge a 3.
On one visit, I had a number of little issues, mainly with restaurant service, and once with cleanliness. The Manager on Duty to whom I spoke made no excuses, apologized and bought me dinner. That's what I like, no excuses, an apology and a "warm fuzzy". By the way, the Pork Chop was delicious and the Chef even put the sauce in a little cup so it wouldn't make my potatoes soggy!
One great aspect is that this hotel has a washer and dryer, and they are FREE!! You can also get the soap for free at the desk! This is a terrific plus!
Haven't used the pool, but it looks nice. There is also a business center with a computer and printer, plus a station for your own computer as well. The last time I was there, the monitor was all blue but I was told that it is being replaced.
Never had to wait more than 10 minutes for the shuttle. You can also be shuttled to the regualr Marriott down the street. There are a few restaurants within walking distance, and an Italian place attached to the hotel in an adjacent office building. Seemed a little pricey.
The Rosemont CTA station is within walking distance, maybe 2-3 blocks away. Also, a couple PACE bus routes stop right in front. Parking is $20/night.
All in all, the Marriott Suites O'hare is a nice place to stay if you are using O'Hare airport. It may be a bit far for some, it's about 45 minutes to downtown, but if you don't mind mass transit and want to save some money, check it out!
