Overall, this hotel stay delivered everything I expected from a Best Western. The room was clean and of average size. The details were well-kept: no peeling paint or burnt-out light bulbs. There were two restaurants attached to the hotel, one of which (Shoeless Joe's Sports Bar) was very impressive and seemed to be frequented by locals as well as hotel patrons. The hotel also had a Business Center (single PC in the lobby) and a 24-hour Fitness Center. Hotel noise was average; airplane noise from the nearby O'Hare Airport was surprisingly low.
The biggest two negative points of my stay were the very small bathroom (which was still quite serviceable) and the heater. The heater appeared to have no actual thermostat function; it was either on or off, on low or high heat. There was a temperature knob, but the heater didn't cut off when the room reached a given temperature. I ended up turning on the heat for the late evening, turning it off before going to bed, then turning it back on in the middle of the night when I got cold.
The heat situation was irritating and made sleeping through the night a challenge; despite that, I would recommend this hotel for anyone who needs a place to stay for a business trip to Chicago, especially for anyone with meetings or training at the nearby O'Hare International Center complex.
